Your Opportunity

Responsible for supporting the execution and implementation of various renewable projects in order to achieve Smithfield's sustainability objectives. This role will require cross-functional collaboration across the company from engineering to finance to deliver strategic renewable projects.

Core Responsibilities
  • Oversee the execution and implementation of various renewable projects.

  • Support and partner with key stakeholders to ensure the completion of projects.

  • Create and update a costing, inventory, and pricing database.

  • Develop and maintain internal market intelligence and S&D databases.

  • Conducts market research on RNG industry and public policy.

  • Develop KPI tracking, and dynamic forecasting tools for RNG and other renewable projects.

  • Execute cost/benefit analysis.

  • Provide detailed analysis of operating and capital costs.

  • Participate in capital planning and budgeting process.

  • Standardize processes and procedures.

  • Track, schedule, budget, and ensure key targeted metrics are attained for biogas projects.

  • Manage relationships with JV partners, suppliers, and internal support staff.

  • Ensure legal approval of all documents, contracts, and materials.

  • Identify opportunities for growth and cost improvement.

  • Support the Company's financial reporting and analytical data requests, including weekly and monthly financial reporting as well as ad-hoc reporting and analysis.

  • Utilize various business and market intelligence tools to develop models and reports to monitor daily sales and production against targets, update cost trend reports and analyze results to ensure they are in line with the business forecast.

  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial forecasts.

  • Improve and streamline the Organization's planning process, taking pride in the quality of information provided.

  • Design reports that present both actual and budget data in a concise manner for use by management in decision making.

  • Perform special requests and participate with projects/presentations, as needed including report analysis, M&A, etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Company will consider a currently enrolled college student with an anticipated graduation by end of current school year as qualified.

  • Prior experience in manufacturing and/or agriculture, a plus.

  • Knowledge and experience with the Microsoft Suite: including, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Strong analytical and variance analysis skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.

  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
