Job Summary: The Software Engineer III plays a crucial role in designing and implementing highly advanced features and solutions that support the Tax practice and delivery of Tax services to clients. The Software Engineer III contributes as a lead developer and key member in an Agile team to design, develop, and implement innovative tax products and solutions to address complex and evolving business needs. This role requires effective collaboration with other team members, while also providing mentorship and guidance to junior developers and peers. Job Duties:
- Designs, develops, and tests software solutions using advanced web and cloud-based technologies and frameworks
- Applies modern software engineering principles across the entire software lifecycle, including architecture, design, development, unit testing, code reviews, DevOps, defect remediation, troubleshooting, and release management, with a focus on scalability and performance
- Reviews and analyzes complex business requirements to provide technical feasibility and estimates, collaborating closely with leads, business teams, clients, and other functional groups to deliver high-quality software products
- Mentors junior engineers to enhance code quality and performance, while adhering to software engineering standards and compliance and providing guidance on best practices
- Escalates critical issues to management, and implements strategies for timely resolution, proactively identifying potential risks and mitigation plans
- Formulates advanced strategies, and develops proposals for software design and architecture, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Education:
- Bachelor's degree required, with a focus in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), Finance, or Accounting with preferred
Experience:
- Five (5) or more years of hands-on experience with building web-based apps using front-end and full stack skills utilizing C#, ASP.NET, HTML, JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular, Typescript), React, or similar, required
- Five (5) or more years of experience in software development supporting or troubleshooting applications and cloud products, required
- Five (5) or more years of experience with developing stored procedures and database schemas utilizing SQL Server, Azure SQL, NOSQL, preferred
- Two (2) or more years of experience designing and automating CI/CD/DevOps Pipelines, preferred
- Two (2) or more years of experience working with Microsoft Azure and Azure Portal, preferred
- Experience with scripting tools; PowerShell, Graph API, Azure CLI, preferred
- Experience with Monitoring Tools; App Monitoring, App Insights, PowerBI, preferred
- Proficient in applying software engineering and object-oriented programming principles, preferred
- Experience with software design, algorithms, data structures, data modeling, and design patterns, preferred
- Experience writing clean code, participating in code reviews, and minimizing technical debt, preferred
- Understanding of Agile solution development, preferred
- Experience analyzing business requirements and process design, preferred
License/Certifications:
- Microsoft MTA / MCSD, Azure Fundamentals (Az-900), or Microsoft Azure Developer Associate, preferred
- Other Certifications in Microsoft, Azure MTA / MCSD, preferred
Software:
- Experience with the following products, preferred:
- Microsoft Office Suite
