$10,000 Sign on Bonus Available!!! $2,500 Relocation bonus available (greater than 50 miles) (external candidates only) The Critical Care Transport Nurse (CCTRN) provides high quality nursing care including triage, assessment and treatment utilizing the policies and protocols within the scope of practice as directed by the Critical Care Transport Program Medical Director. The CCTRN, in collaboration with their partner, will assess the nature and extent of illness and injury to establish and prioritize care needed for a safe transport to an appropriate facility. The CCTRN will be qualified to provide care for patients across the life span. The CCTRN will be responsible the ensuring that safety remains the highest priority throughout the transport continuum. The CCTRN will also be responsible for public relations activities in the region, education of regional providers, quality review of transports, case study reviews, among other PR and quality activities. Qualifications Certifications: Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR); and Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Indiana (IN) - Indiana Professional Licensing Agency (IPLA); Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA); and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Provider - American Heart Association (AHA); and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider - American Heart Association (AHA); and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 3 months - American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP); and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within 3 months - Emergency Nurses Association (ENA); or Trauma Nurse Specialist (TNS) within 3 months - Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH); and International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) within 3 months - International Trauma Life Support (ITLS); or Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) within 3 months - National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT); and National Nursing Certification - Varies; Hazardous Materials Awareness (HazMat) within 6 months - Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA); and ICS-800: National Incident Management System (NIMS) within 6 months - Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA); and ICS-700: National Incident Management System (NIMS) within 6 months - Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA); and ICS-200: National Incident Management System (NIMS) within 6 months - Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA); and ICS-100: National Incident Management System (NIMS) within 6 months - Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) within 2 years - Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN); or Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) within 2 years - American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) or Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) within 2 years - Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB);or or Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN) within 2 years - Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN); and Pre-Hospital Registered Nurse (PHRN) within 6 months - Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA); or Licensed Paramedic - Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH); and Driver's License - Secretary of State (SOS); Education: College Diploma: Nursing, Work Experience: Critical care nursing Responsibilities Delivers patient care as directed by Patient Care Guidelines, or online medical directionComplies with safety standards to assure safety of self, other medical personnel, patient and equipmentParticipates in patient and referring institution follow upParticipates in planned outreach marketing and education activitiesAttends pre-mission briefings and mission debriefings and completes necessary documentationAssists in pre-mission liftoff checklist and assists pilot as requested (i.e., radio, navigational and visual observation activities)Complies with safety standards to assure safety of self, other medical personnel, patient and equipmentServes as flight resource to neonatal/obstetric personnel when transporting specialty team and patientActs as preceptor and/or participates in orientation of new employees and students as assignedConducts safety briefings as necessaryCommunicates with appropriate medical personnel regarding patient condition, history, treatments, response to treatments and other relevant informationMaintains safety, security, cleanliness and appearance of the aircraft, equipment and supplies including controlled substances and patient belongingsAbility to work in confined mobile spacesParticipates in departmental quality improvement activitiesCompletes reports that are accurate and legible while ensuring that medical, billing and administrative information is completeBecomes knowledgeable in all aspects of flight physiology, flight safety procedures, ground handling, emergency and non-emergent ambulance operations, navigation and radio or telephonic communicationWill remain within the safety standard of 235 pounds or less (235 pounds will include flight suit, boots, helmet and coat)Adheres to Carle Behavior StandardsPromotes Critical Care Transport programs throughout Carle HealthAbility to work in both air and ground transport vehiclesOther duties as assign About Us Find it here. Compensation and Benefits The compensation range for this position is $37.02per hour - $63.67per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
