Job Description
Responsible for developing, managing, and scaling a comprehensive corporate volunteerism program that aligns with the company's purpose, social responsibility goals, and business objectives. This role partners closely with HR, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and community engagement teams to foster employee engagement, enhance the company's reputation, and deliver measurable results for both community impact and business performance.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement a volunteerism strategy that aligns with the company's purpose, culture, and long-term business goals.
- Collaborate with HR to integrate volunteerism into employee value propositions, recruitment, retention, and professional development initiatives.
- Work cross-functionally with leadership, internal communications, and DEI teams to drive participation and awareness of volunteer programs.
- Project Management: Build and oversee a portfolio of volunteer initiatives, including skills-based, team-based, and virtual opportunities, tailored to the diverse interests and expertise of employees. Develop signature volunteer programs that reflect the company's core mission and values.
- Establish partnerships with nonprofit organizations to ensure impactful and scalable opportunities for employees.
- Engagement & Communication: Inspire employees to participate in volunteer programs by creating compelling campaigns, sharing stories of impact, and highlighting individual and team contributions. Develop tools, resources, and recognition programs to support employees and leaders in their volunteer efforts. Represent the company at community events, conferences, and forums related to corporate volunteerism and social responsibility.
- Measurement & Impact: Define KPIs and success metrics for volunteer initiatives, tracking both business outcomes (e.g., employee engagement, retention) and community impact. Regularly report on the performance and outcomes of volunteer programs to leadership, identifying areas for improvement and innovation. Leverage data to demonstrate the ROI of volunteerism programs, showcasing their alignment with business and community goals.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Business, HR, Social Impact, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in HR, CSR, volunteer management, or related roles, with a proven track record of leading corporate volunteer programs.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication, storytelling, and relationship-building skills.
- Data-driven mindset with experience in measuring program outcomes and using insights for continuous improvement.
- Passion for social impact and the ability to inspire others to engage in meaningful community work.

Salary Range At Blue Cross NC, we take great pride in a fair and equitable compensation package that reflects market-price and our starting salaries are typically planned near the middle of the range listed. Compensation decisions are driven by factors including experience and training, specialized skill sets, licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs.Our base salary is part of a robust Total Rewards package that includes an Annual Incentive Bonus*, 401(k) with employer match, Paid Time Off (PTO), and competitive health benefits and wellness programs. *Based on annual corporate goal achievement and individual performance. $91,100.00 - $164,000.00
