Overview
Titan Machinery is seeking a detail-oriented and relationship-driven Credit Manager to lead our credit operations and play a vital role in our financial and customer service success. In this role, you'll evaluate creditworthiness, manage risk, and ensure timely collections-all while supporting sales teams and building strong, lasting customer relationships.
Responsibilities
Evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing customers using financial analysis, credit reports, trade references, and internal metrics.
- Set and monitor credit limits in line with company policies and risk tolerance.
- Oversee the collections process, ensuring timely and professional communication with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Partner with parts and service departments to proactively manage customer accounts.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and provide regular reporting to senior leadership.
- Enforce and improve credit policies and procedures to reduce bad debt exposure.
- Negotiate payment plans or settlements when necessary.
- Analyze credit trends and offer insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Support financial audits with accurate documentation and reporting.
- Educate and train internal teams on credit standards, processes, and customer solutions.
- Uphold all safety protocols and contribute to a positive, compliant work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in credit management or related financial role, preferably in the equipment, construction, or industrial sector
- Strong knowledge of credit principles, financial analysis, and collection procedures
- Proven track record of minimizing bad debt and improving collections metrics
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to handle and resolve frequent interpersonal conflict
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced, stressful work environment
- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time and work flexible hours
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to liaise with internal teams and external partners
- Ability to respond quickly, accurately, and professionally to demands and requests from customers and employees

Preferred:
- Experience working in an equipment dealership, leasing, or heavy machinery industry
- Familiarity with lien filings, UCC documentation, and equipment financing terms
