The Data Scientist within the Strategic Analytics group at Echo is responsible for transforming vast amounts of internal and external data into actionable business value. This role requires developing end-to-end data science solutions, from initial data extraction and modeling to production deployment and ongoing maintenance. The Data Scientist will leverage machine learning, statistical modeling, and modern cloud technologies to build scalable analytics solutions, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to translate complex analytical insights into clear business recommendations that drive organizational decision-making. A successful Data Scientist at Echo approaches business challenges with a critical analytical mindset, evaluates multiple solution approaches and their respective trade-offs, develops robust technical implementations, effectively communicates results and insights, and works closely with IT teams to integrate solutions into the broader business infrastructure.

Job Requirements:

  • Machine learning and predictive analytics experience using Python and R.
  • Familiarity with statistical modeling techniques such as hierarchical models, time series forecasting, experimental design and analysis, spatial modeling, optimization methods (pricing, revenue optimization), and Bayesian methods.
  • Experience incorporating generative AI/LLMs for analytical applications.
  • Proficiency in SQL for database querying, data extraction, and manipulation across relational database management systems (RDBMS).
  • Experience developing and deploying data science applications using frameworks such as R Shiny, Streamlit, and FastAPI.
  • Experience managing cloud data science deployments via AWS SageMaker.
  • Experience with MLOps, data engineering pipelines (ETL), and deployment technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, etc.).
  • Experience with Git version control and collaborative development workflows.
  • Interpretation of complex outputs into straightforward business recommendations, with clear communication skills to explain technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Compensation

$112,350.00-165,050.00 per year This role is eligible for a bonus that is based on a combination of personal and business performance.
