We're looking for an Audio Systems Engineer to elevate the fan experience at every game with flawless sound and cutting-edge technology. In this role, you'll work closely with the Auburn Athletics Facilities Department and Special Events Team to oversee all in-venue audio system needs across premier athletics venues, including Neville Arena, Jordan-Hare Stadium, Plainsman Park, and more.
Essential Functions

  • Operates and maintains new and existing audio systems during events at Auburn Athletics venues, including but not limited to Neville Arena, Jordan-Hare Stadium, and Plainsman Park.
  • Collaborates with the Special Events Team to lead all in-venue audio production needs, delivering exceptional sound for third-party events inside Auburn Athletics venues.
  • Works alongside the Athletics Department's Facilities and Special Events team to meet audio requirements for special events within Athletics facilities.
  • Provide technical support and training to staff on audio system operations during events.
  • Advises and assists as needed, with all audio-specific assignments for special events outside of the Athletics Department's venues.
  • Leads with expert audio guidance, advising on audio system design, while working with installation companies to ensure high-quality implementations.
  • Develops audio strategies to enhance in-venue fan experiences and achieve production goals.
  • Assists with budgets, procurement, and vendor relationships for audio equipment and services.
  • Ensures audio systems comply with safety standards and university policies.
  • Stay up to date on audio technology trends and recommend improvements for venue sound quality.
  • Works nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • May be responsible for training, assisting or assigning tasks to others. May provide input to performance reviews of other employees.

Minimum Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Engineering, Communications, RTV (Radio, Television, Film), Broadcast Journalism, Information Systems, Recording & Production, Sound & Audio, Music,
Show Production, Music Technology, or related field and 2 years of experience in the operation or
installation of audio systems in venues, arenas, or stadiums, theaters, or concert halls, or
experience with audio systems through work within AV installation and operation companies.

OR

Associate's Degree or Vocational Certificate in Electronics, Engineering, Communications, RTV
(Radio, Television, Film), Broadcast Journalism, Information Systems, Recording & Production,
Sound & Audio, Music, Show Production, Music Technology, or related field and 4 years of experience in the operation or installation of audio systems in venues, arenas, or stadiums,
theaters, or concert halls, or experience with audio systems through work within AV installation
and operation companies.

OR

High School Diploma and 6 years of experience in the operation or installation of audio systems in venues, arenas, or stadiums, theaters, or concert halls, or experience with audio systems through work within AV installation and operation companies.

Dante Audio Networking Level 2 Certification required.
Minimum Skills, License, and Certifications


Minimum Skills and Abilities

  • Deep expertise in audio systems for large-scale venues, including mixing consoles, speakers, and live event production.
  • Knowledge of integrated intercom systems.
  • Proven ability to advise on audio system design and collaborate with installation companies.
  • Deep expertise operating and maintaining audio systems in high-pressure environments.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
