Description

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking a Rheumatologist to join the Department of Medicine at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi and North Central Bronx. These hospitals are part of NYC Health + Hospitals, the nation's largest public health system. Jacobi is a 457-bed Level I Trauma Center, and North Central Bronx has 213 licensed beds. The hospitals maintain a strong academic affiliation with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine to uphold high standards of healthcare delivery. If desired, all Medicine faculty members may receive appointments at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Opportunity Details:

  • Seeking a full-time Clinical Educator to join the Department of Medicine.

  • The Division of Rheumatology is an academic practice sponsored by the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and supported by Montefiore Medical Center Rheumatology Fellows.

  • The practice includes both inpatient and outpatient care, and involves clinical supervision of fellows, residents, and medical students.

  • At its peak, the practice serves 1,700 unique patients between the two hospitals, with 52 patients receiving routine biologic infusion therapy.

  • The division includes active Lupus Clinics, Joint Pain Clinics, Ultrasound Evaluation and Treatment Clinics, and Arthritis Clinics.

  • The Jacobi inpatient service averages 7 consults per day, while North Central Bronx averages 3-5 consults per day.

  • The service is a division of the Department of Medicine with a vision to expand to four full-time Rheumatologists.

  • The Department of Medicine comprises approximately 110 full-time physicians and 162 medical residents, across 15 divisions covering all medical specialties.

  • Jacobi and North Central Bronx are teaching sites for eight fellowships under the Albert Einstein College of Medicine-Montefiore program.

Qualifications
  • Board certification in Internal Medicine.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Rheumatology.
  • Active New York State medical license.
  • Ability to speak Spanish preferredbut not required.
  • Ultrasound training preferred but not required.

Wages and Benefits include:

Annual Base Salary: $224,220* (board eligible) and $229,600* (board certified) based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.

The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $342,162** (board eligible) and $348,080** (board certified), which includes the baseline salary, 401 (k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:

  • Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $55,520.
  • Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year's average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
    • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
    • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
  • Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.
  • Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.
  • Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage: Equal to 2x salary (up to a maximum of $300,000) provided at no cost to you.
    • Additional employee-paid Voluntary Life and AD&D coverage is available for you and your family.
  • Loan Forgiveness: Position may be eligible for loan forgiveness through certain state or federal programs.
  • Medical Malpractice Coverage (equivalent to occurrence-based): Provided at no cost to the employee.
  • Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs).
  • Pre-tax employee-paid contributions for commuting expenses.
  • Visa sponsorship will be considered for this position.
