Assistant Men's Volleyball Coach

Under the direction of the Head Coach, the Assistant Coach is responsible for all aspects of the development and administration of a successful NCAA Division III Intercollegiate Volleyball Program. The program will be conducted in accordance with all College and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), rules, regulations, and policies.

The Assistant Coach is a professional employee of the College with a primary duty of teaching and instructing student-athletes in the sport of Volleyball. The vast majority of the Assistant Coach's time is spent on coaching/teaching duties in season as well as some recruiting, while a minority of the Assistant Coach's time is spent performing administrative duties.

Essential Functions:

1. Coaching/Teaching Duties: (80% of Assistant Coach's time)
  • On court coaching the sport of volleyball and skills needed to be successful during practice;
  • On court coaching during matches;
  • Help head coach as directed on pother duties as needed.

2. Administrative Duties: (20% of Assistant Coach's time)
  • Help Head Coach with Frontrush system;
  • Be involved in a comprehensive recruiting program to bring quality MVB Student athletes to Curry. (Calls, emails, showcases, visits, etc?);
  • Drive van when needed.

3. Supervision:
  • Help Head Coach with supervision of any student managers.


Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in a related discipline from an accredited four-year collegiate institution.
  • One to two years of Volleyball coaching experience at the club, high school or college level.
  • Experience in coaching and knowledge of the fundamentals, tactics, and strategies of coaching Volleyball with ability to recruit talented players for the program.
  • Knowledgeable and current on all College rules and regulations concerning eligibility and recruiting related to Volleyball.
  • Ability to handle emergency situations involving students.
  • Current driver's license and good driving record.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Ability to work evening and weekends and some holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Volleyball playing experience.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
