Aegis Baseline 9 Combat Systems Controller (CSC) Instructor
Final offer is contingent upon meeting customer's tasking requirements.
Purpose:
- Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a Combat Systems Controller (CSC) Trainer who will be a key support to of Surface Combat Systems Training Command (SCSTC-HR) in Norfolk, VA.
Job Description:
- Serve as a Combat Systems Controller (CSC) Instructor and provide training in Aegis Combat System's functions.
- Develop, organize, and conduct training and educational programs for Fleet sailors in support of Surface Combat Systems Training Command.
- Prepare, review, and customize curriculum lesson plans and instructor guides in support of traditional classroom teaching.
- Develop, test, maintain, and deliver moderately complex training scenarios, training programs and related materials in support of SCSTC training objectives.
- Provide subject matter expertise in support of curriculum development for SCSTC courses supporting the operational employment of the assets available to the fleet.
- Conduct assessment of the sailors' abilities to comply with approved operational and tactical procedures, and ships Battle Orders and thereafter provides formal appraisal of performance with recommendations for improvement and methods to maintain tactical and procedural proficiency.
- Observes and assesses contemporaries during Practice and Certification Teaches per requirements NAVEDTRA 135.
- Support Course Reviews and Curriculum Updates, conducts training gap analysis, and provides formal feedback and recommendations for course improvement.
- Documents the training conducted with specifics of the individual areas / watch station and is responsible for generation of a formal assessment of measure of success via written report.
- Maintain records of training activities, participant progress, and program effectiveness and maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must have SECRET clearance
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must have prior Aegis SPY-1D(v), FCS, or ACNT technician/operator experience. Must have experience teaching the Aegis Combat System's function tasks to others in a journeyman level training environment such as during shipboard training scenarios or as a senior watch stander.
- Must have at least (7) years of experience as a qualified Aegis BL 9 Fire Control Technician (FCA) with Combat Systems Controller (CSC) watch station experience.
- Must have at least (1) year of experience as an instructor in a Navy Training Environment, to include presentation skills, public speaking, curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials and the results of instruction and counseling students on academic learning problems is required.
- Must have excellent communication skills and experience as a Navy instructor (NEC 805A/9502)
- Must have the ability to conduct traditional classroom instruction and support tactical lab training.
- Must be able to support training with extended periods on your feet while instructing.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience as trainer/instructor in support of SCSTC/ATRC/TACTRAGRU is preferred.
- Experience as a Master Training/Afloat Training Specialist is preferred.
Security Requirements
:
- Must have an Active DoD Secret security clearance and the ability to maintain a clearance.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance to access military facilities, naval shipyards, private shipyards, and Naval installations.
Travel Requirements:
- Occasional travel- less than 10-20 %
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to support training with extended periods on your feet while instructing.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.

Pay Range: $75,000 - $80,000 per year |
