Job Title- Logistics Technician
Location- Torrance, CA 90501
Duration- 12 months
Shift- 1st Shift (6 am - 2:30 PM PST)
Note- The candidate should be able to stand on their feet for long periods, be comfortable wearing steel toes, and must be able to lift/push up to (50lbs). Forklift is not needed (more of back up purposes if we end up being short, company also provides forklift cert if they want it) If any candidate has experience driving a box truck, this is a bonus but NOT MANDATORY
Job Description-
As a member of the Central Dispatch Team, you will perform various physical and transactional process based operations supporting production, repair, development and non-production (MRO) requirements of the business. Together with other team members, you will engage in the direction of the team by coordinating efforts, developing capabilities, completing training, communicating status and leading change to improve team performance. Additionally, you will support team initiatives and coordinate/manage team performance through the use of metrics and data to meet or exceed safety, quality, delivery, cost and lean performance goals.
As a Dispatcher (Logistic Tech), you will:
- Process Material movement physically and systematically
- Receive and process inbound and outbound material
- Pull and put away material to respective staging locations
- Perform inventory reconciliation(2-Bins)
- Manage transactions for Nonconforming material physically and systematically
- Prepare paperwork and send out items needing for outside processing.
- Complete Cycle Counts, Shelf-Life Management for paint
- Expedite outside machining and processing through vendors as required to meet production schedules.
- Schedule courier (Jet) pickups and deliveries for incoming and outgoing OSP
- Create/prepare work order splits when partial lots are received.
- Monitor assigned queues; clear any aging Work orders
- Investigate and resolve aging WIP and any other projects
- Ensure transaction compliance
- Direct the activities of the production truck driver in the movement of parts and all other activity.
- Assist in any dispatch task as needed
Accountabilities:
1. Support the timely meeting of production schedules by moving, coordinating, expediting and processing jobs throughout the floor.
2. Package and verify parts assuring correct paperwork is sent and received.
3. Provide direction to the activities to the team & production driver as related to vendor or Stockroom
4. Assure timely and accurate response to Customers(internal/external) inquires related to technical specifications on OP sheet, material, delivery, and quantity questions.
5. Participate in the normal dispatch material and paperwork flow.
6. Provide backup to the Dispatch supporting roles.
