Job Description:

Job Summary: Direct and coordinate all sales of new and used helicopters in North America and report activity to the President/CEO Head of NA Region. Responsible for overall marketing for Airbus Helicopters in NA.

Primary Responsibilities:

SALES

Responsible for Commercial Sales success: 40%

  • Directs the efforts of the sales force and the used helicopter group in the attainment of the department's annual sales goals

  • Ensures that the activities of the groups within the Commercial Affairs Department are meeting the departmental objectives, operating within the plan and supporting the overall selling effort as outlined by the corporation.

  • Supports and initiates the development of sales promotional material.

  • Negotiate and communicate the customer requirements necessary for the satisfactory completion of a sale, working with Key Account sales team, Regional sales force, Completion sales team, Support and Service sales team, Asset Management sales team, Civil Program Management team, and other departments as necessary.

  • Create, staff, initiate and coordinate sales and demonstration programs that assist in the development of additional helicopter sales opportunities.

  • Develop and implement sales campaigns in response to repaid market changes.

MARKETING

Marketing Strategy: 20%

  • Define Marketing Objectives & Priorities, providing intelligence for Bookings targets.

  • Define and own market development strategies by Segment & Region.

  • Develop Market Landscape, present the current market & market trends.

Marketing Analysis & Forecasting: 10%

  • Collect & share on-time market & competition information.

  • Perform Market Surveys.

  • Conduct qualitative & quantitative market analyses.

  • Analyze Tenders & Requirements.

  • Organize regular communication.

  • Contribute to the S&OP process.

Marketing Communication Activities: 10%

  • Conduct and Coordinate the Marketing Communication actions (Air shows, Customer Events, Demo Tours, and Promotion/Ways of communication).

  • Manage & Execute the Regional Marketing Communication activities (Air shows, Customer Events, Demo Tours, and Promotion/Ways of communication).

Forecasting & Offers: 10%

  • Accountable for forecast accuracy of new and used a/c

  • Regional challenge, consolidation and validation of forecast including new and trade-in a/c, submission to central

  • Focal point for the gathering of marketing intelligence to support the overall company efforts.

  • Ability to create complex offers - including preparation and negotiation

  • Business Breakthrough projects implementation, maturation and return of experience

  • Propose orientations / guidelines for Industrial participation and specific Offset solutions

Sales Management: 10%

  • Conducts periodic performance evaluations, makes recommendations for salary increases (promotion, merit, adjustment), transfers, hires, and disciplinary actions (terminations).

  • Ensure that all procedures within the area of responsibility are maintained current, are followed, and that a well-defined working relationship is established with QA in order to maintain the requirements of ISO and FAA procedures.

  • Ensure the Sales Team is using and adhering to the Gifts & Hospitality processes.

  • Sales team operates ethically and adheres to compliance and policies.

  • BS degree in Marketing, Management or equivalent

  • MBA in Business, Finance, or equivalent

Experience:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years direct marketing/sales experience in the aviation industry.

  • Experience in helicopters

  • Commercial rotorcraft-helicopter pilot license

Physical Requirements:

  • Onsite or remote: 25%

  • Vision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.

  • Hearing: able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms.

  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.

  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.

  • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 25lbs/11kgs.

  • Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 25lbs/11kgs.

  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.

  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer.

  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.

  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.

  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice.

  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.

  • Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site

  • Administrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
