Job Overview

SUMMARY
The role is to support and assist therapy providers in managing their patient caseload, providing support services to patients and families, providing a clean, organized and appropriately prepared environment for therapy and maximizing the providers ability to efficiently and effectively provide high quality care.

SHIFT DETAILS: Full Time, 1.0 FTE - 40 hours/week, Tuesday -Friday from 8am -6:30pm

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. These examples do not include all of the functions which the employee may be expected to perform.

1. Supports therapy care delivery by preparing treatment areas, patient equipment, and materials. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
2. Performs procedures under supervision of a therapy providers (such as helping patients onto therapy equipment, monitoring motion and activity, measuring mobility).
3. Demonstrates proper use of equipment and prescribed exercises. Assists patients with therapeutic exercise programs. Assists with application of therapeutic modalities such as hot pack/ice packs
4. Maintains required patient care documentation and reporting of therapy sessions. Provides families with information/instructions on follow up care as established by the treating therapist and answering any questions or requests.
5. Conducts patient and family rounding to ensure patient's/family's comfort level while at the facility.
6. Sterilizes and delivers equipment and supplies to treatment area, positioning equipment for therapist access. Completes preventive maintenance on equipment, following manufacturer's instructions and troubleshooting malfunctioning equipment.
7. Maintains therapy supply inventory by checking stock (2 bin system or PAR levels) to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies and verifying receipt of supplies.
8. Adheres to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and Joint Commission standards.
9. Provides general support for administrative functions and processes that support a department and its team members. Schedules follow up appointments in the treatment area, prints and distributes patient home programs; and educates families on the benefits of using MyChart.
10. Provides customer service support and assistance to patients, families, physicians, and other internal/external customers. Provides orientation and training to all providers through new departmental orientation, building and safety checklists, and annual AED training.

SCOPE AND LEVEL
Guidelines: Guidelines are generally numerous, well established, and directly applicable to the work assignment. Work assignment and desired results are explained by general oral or written instructions.
Complexity: Duties assigned are generally repetitive and restricted in scope but may be of substantial intricacy. Employee primarily applies standardized practices.
Decision Making: Decisions or recommendations on non-standardized situations are limited to relating organizational policies to specific cases. Brings non-routine issues to supervisor. Problems that are not covered by guidelines or are without precedent are taken up with the supervisor.
Communications: Contacts with team members, clients or the public where explanatory or interpretive information is exchanged, gathered, or presented and some degree of discretion and judgment are required within the parameters of the job function.
Supervision Received: Under normal supervision, within a standardized work situation, the employee performs duties common to the line of work without close supervision or detailed instruction. Work product is subject to continual review.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification

EDUCATION - High School Diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE - One year of administrative and/or customer service experience in an office or clinical setting. EQUIVALENCY - An Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field may substitute for the required experience. CERTIFICATION(S) - BLS - American Heart Association for Healthcare Provider OR American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer/CPR Certificate.

Salary Information
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.

Hourly Range: $14.45 to $21.68 based on experience
