Strategic Technology and Portfolio Group

The Strategic Technology and Portfolio (STP) Group supports the CTIO and drives technological innovation for the company and advances the technology strategy to support global growth. This includes all Regions and lines of business. We work closely with system integrators to deliver technology changes and respond quickly to customer demands. The STP PMO plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of technology projects within the organization.

Position Overview

This role is based in Denver, CO, following our flexible work policy (3 days in-office, 2 days flexible).

The Manager, PMO plays a critical role in leading project managers and driving enterprise technology and application deployment initiatives across our global data center footprint. Sitting between tactical project execution and strategic program management, this role ensures that projects stay on track, align with business objectives, and adhere to best practices.

This role requires strong leadership skills, as you will be responsible for managing and mentoring a team of project managers while also driving continuous improvement in PMO processes. The ideal candidate has a background in enterprise technology project management, cross-functional collaboration, and risk mitigation, along with the ability to build and develop high-performing teams.

Essential Job Functions

People Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project managers, providing guidance and career development support.

  • Foster a high-performance culture that emphasizes ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Define clear expectations and success metrics for the team, ensuring alignment with PMO and business goals.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to support professional growth.

  • Advocate for team needs and remove roadblocks to ensure effective project execution.

Project Execution & Leadership

  • Oversee and drive the successful delivery of multiple enterprise application and technology projects.

  • Ensure projects are executed on time, within scope, and aligned with business priorities.

  • Act as a key escalation point for project risks, proactively identifying and implementing mitigation strategies.

  • Support the PMO in standardizing processes, templates, and governance frameworks for consistent project execution.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for cross-functional teams, including IT, engineering, operations, and external vendors.

  • Provide clear, consistent project updates to leadership, highlighting key milestones, risks, and dependencies.

  • Facilitate alignment between project teams and business units to ensure stakeholder expectations are met.

Process Improvement & Governance

  • Contribute to the development and refinement of PMO methodologies, tools, and best practices.

  • Monitor and enforce project governance standards to maintain compliance and quality.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.

Job Requirements

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • PMP, Prince2, or Agile certification preferred.

Experience

  • 7+ years of project management experience, with a focus on enterprise technology deployments and application rollouts.

  • 3+ years of experience leading and mentoring project managers or cross-functional teams.

  • Experience managing multiple complex projects across a global organization.

  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors.

  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira) and compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR) is a plus.

Skills

  • Strong leadership and team development skills with a track record of building high-performing teams.

  • Excellent problem-solving and risk management abilities.

  • Clear, concise communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.

  • High attention to detail, process improvement mindset, and a commitment to operational excellence.

Additional Information

  • Travel Requirement: Up to 15-20%, with potential adjustments based on business needs.

Additional Details

  • Salary Range: $150,000 - $160,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)

  • This position is eligible for company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and AD&D, short and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program that includes company match, and many other additional voluntary benefits.

  • Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
