Job Title: Panelshop Technician I

What You'll Do:

As a Panelshop Technician I, you will play a vital role in supporting the Switchgear Modernization Panelshop. You will work directly with other senior technicians and engineers to assemble, wire and test custom electrical control panels.

Functions:

  • Assist senior technicians or engineers in manufacturing, assembly, wiring and testing of custom designed products following established procedures and safety protocols.
  • Perform routine inspections, tests, and quality inspections on electrical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot wiring issues using digital multimeters, manuals, and technical documentation, and collaborating with senior technicians or engineers as needed.
  • Adhere to safety regulations, policies, and procedures at all times, maintaining a safe and clean work environment and reporting any safety hazards or incidents to supervisors.



Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a technical or maintenance role, preferably in a manufacturing, laboratory, or industrial environment.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems and components, with the ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability to read electrical schematic and wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to wire point to point in a factory environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to follow instructions, troubleshoot issues, and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks as required to perform job duties.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, and weekends as needed to support operational needs.



Preferred BUT NOT required skills:

  • Technical certification or associate degree in a relevant field (e.g., electronics, mechanics, industrial technology).
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Previous experience working with diverse teams and collaborating effectively to achieve common goals.
