GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

The Director, Human Resources is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing human resources policies and programs covering the following: staffing, HRIS administration, compensation, benefits, employee relations, performance management, training, safety & health, and employee rewards & recognition.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Leads the Human Resources functions and personnel for Kratos Unmanned Systems Division across several multistate locations.
  • Develops and interprets human resources programs, policies, procedures, and controls; and implements change improvement where desirable.
  • Ensures that employment practices are in compliance with applicable federal and state laws.
  • Directs and coordinates with Kratos corporate office on staffing and recruiting activities, assuring that properly qualified employees are recruited and hired.
  • Collaborates with leadership on selection, promotion, and placement of internal company personnel.

    • Partners with leadership regarding employee relations issues; manages investigations and initiates corrective action as needed.
    • Oversees administration of training programs and ensures that employee training is current per the division Quality Management System.
    • Develops and guides divisional wage and salary administration.
    • Manages employee performance appraisal programs.
    • Directs employee rewards and recognition programs, including utilizing vendors to support multi-tiered recognition, and coordinating HR sponsored employee engagement events.
    • Works in partnership with division Environmental Health & Safety department and production leadership to help oversee the administration of employee safety and health.
    • Works in conjunction with the corporate office to help coordinate employee benefit programs (medical, dental, 401k, etc.).
    • Directs leave of absence and workers compensation programs.
    • Prepares and works within the Human Resources Department budget.
    • Other duties as assigned.





SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

Direct supervision of human resources staff.

    • Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary.
    • Ability to adhere to workplace rules.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • MS Office proficient.




  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and maintain effective working relationships with the human resources staff.
  • Ability to develop human resources strategy and goals in alignment with overall company objectives.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required:



  • B.S. degree in a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive human resources experience, including 5+ years in a human resources managerial role, preferably in a defense contractor or manufacturing environment.

  • SPHR certification preferred.
