Computer Programmer III

Develop custom software application(s) solving challenging technical problems in the context of ecological restoration for projects. Communicate the progress of deliverables/products to rest of the team.

This position requires an active USAccess.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Computer Programmer III: $70,000.00-79,000.00

Pay commensurate with experience.

Computer Programmer III Responsibilities Include:

  • Writes SQL code to communicate with relational database systems.

    • Creates and/or edits existing C#.NET code using Visual Studio for production applications.

      • Develops user interface code using HTML, JavaScript and CSS.

      • Includes "in-code" comments/documentation for all code blocks prior to repository upload.

      • Interacts with various relational database systems.

      • Participates with senior team members on database schema design.

      • Minimizes database downtime and manage parameters to provide efficient query responses.

      • Follows and documents database policies, procedures and standards.

      • Participates in writing software specifications/requirements documentation with senior team members.

      • Assists in creating training materials/user guides to accompany custom built databases and applications.

      • Assists in creating use cases and test plans for written software.

      • Documents developed project components in the government provided code repository ticket and documentation platform.

      • Publishes all code to an in-house testing web server for review by Government.

      • Assists in creating use cases and test plans for written software.

      • Performs the following types of testing on developed software: unit testing, functional testing, performance testing, and usability testing.

      • Participates in meetings related to application development.

      • Interacts with other programmers on the Advanced Applications Team and other agency programmers to ensure transparency of projects.

      • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Computer Programmer III Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science and/or relevant practical experience and training

  • Proficient with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and C# .NET as software development languages, T/SQL as an enterprise database communication language, and English as an oral and written communication language.

  • Proficient with Visual Studio as a primary development environment.

  • General understanding of GIS environments and geospatial data containers is a plus for working on geospatially driven web applications.

    • Knowledge of CI/CD workflows is a plus.

      • Knowledge of enterprise database reporting tools.

  • Ability to work well independently or as a team member.
