Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Residential Life & Community Standards, the Assistant Director of Housing Operations oversees housing operations for the East Falls campus residence halls. This position serves as a member of the Residential Life leadership team and is responsible for the overall management of the university's facilities and housing operations, occupancy management, housing selection, summer housing and facility related initiatives. The Assistant Director of Housing Operations is responsible for the overall coordination of all department facility and housing operation processes. The Assistant Director for Housing Operations supervises a Resident Director for Housing and participates in the on-call duty rotation for campus crisis and emergency response. Additionally, this position oversees support services for off campus housing.

Job Description

Essential Functions

  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
  • Provide leadership for all housing facilities & operations initiatives for university-owned student housing on the East Falls campus
  • Provide direct supervision, training, development and evaluate the Resident Director for Housing Operations.
  • Directly manages & oversees housing assignments, billing, room changes/selection processes through the StarRez software system.
  • Develop professional and paraprofessional staff training in the areas of housing assignment processes, selection processes, occupancy, room condition reports and all other relevant processes.
  • Serve in an on-call duty rotation to support staff emergency response during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Serves as a Community Standards Officer for residential facilities policy and community standards policy violations.
  • Assist the Assistant Dean/Director of Residential Life and Community Standards with vision & leadership for housing occupancy management, including but not limited to planning, reporting, management, communication & marketing.
  • Other duties as assigned by Assistant Dean/Director of Residential Life and Community Standards.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree in Student Personnel, Higher Education, Counseling, or a similar area preferred

AND

Experience:

  • Minimum three to five years of progressive experience in higher education.
