We are seeking a Manager, Distribution Operations to provide leadership, organizational improvement and project management to support distribution operations. As a market leader in Foot and Ankle care, we're driving innovation that empowers surgeons and transforms patients' lives. This role is critical to ensuring our high-quality medical technologies are delivered with precision and care. The Manager, Distribution Operations will be responsible for on-time order delivery, optimizing workflows, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering continuous improvement to support exceptional service and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities: The following are the primary duties and responsibilities of this role. Other related duties may be assigned to meet the business need.

Oversee daily warehouse distribution operations, ensuring excellence in order processing, inventory control, and put-away.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs and standard work procedures to ensure consistent team performance.
  • Develop reporting frameworks and KPIs to monitor productivity and drive performance improvements.
  • Lead benchmarking initiatives to identify and implement distribution innovations and best practices.
  • Ensure inventory integrity through cycle counts, audits, and prompt resolution of discrepancies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues quickly and effectively, ensuring high satisfaction levels.
  • Participate in quality control and assurance activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory and operational standards.
  • Address CAPAs and product complaints, implementing effective corrective and preventive actions; maintain audit readiness.
  • Ensure timely execution of quality, GMP, and SOX-related actions and processes.
  • Proactively identify and address internal and external customer needs, coordinating effective solutions.
  • Support S&OE/S&OP processes, including CAPEX fulfillment and demand planning activities.
  • Ensure adequate levels of shipping supplies to fulfill orders.

Lead team(s) of 6-10 members, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to optimize inventory accuracy and availability.

  • Foster a customer-focused team environment, modeling and reinforcing positive, service-oriented behavior.
  • Lead and manage full-cycle talent processes, including hiring, training, performance management, and when necessary, terminations.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to align on priorities, monitor progress, and drive timely execution of initiatives.
  • Maintain regular communication with associates, peers, and leadership to share updates, changes, and opportunities.

Support Lean/Six Sigma, cost improvement, and operations metrics projects, including development, tracking, and implementation of solutions.

  • Analyze production and inventory data to support continuous improvement initiatives, driving scorecards for cost, quality, inventory, and other KPIs.
  • Optimize the movement of goods through the supply chain, identifying process gaps and driving improvements in transportation, distribution, and related workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional Supply Chain teams to drive strategic and tactical initiatives that support growth and optimization.

Serve as the primary subject matter expert (SME) for automated storage and retrieval systems (e.g. Kardex Vertical Lift Module), including operation, maintenance, and optimization.

  • Develop and implement best practices for VLM usage to maximize storage density, improve picking efficiency, and minimize errors. Monitor VLM system performance and identify areas for process improvement.
  • Serve as primary Administrator and ensure adequate and up-to-date training for all users.

Minimum Basic Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain & Logistics, Business or a related subject area. MBA is a plus.

  • Minimum 5 years supervisor experience with proven work experience in warehouse management.
  • Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices. Previous work experience and demonstrated knowledge of VLM storage units and warehouse automation.
  • Demonstrate strong Microsoft Excel proficiency and advanced analytical skills to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Proven ERP experience required, with preference for NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP systems.
  • Project Management experience.

Work environment | Physical demands:

  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.

  • Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds.

  • Ability to tug, pull, or lift up to twenty (25) pounds.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Process Excellence (Lean/Six-Sigma) and or APICS experience and certification strongly desired.

  • Previous work experience managing medical device distribution and or loaner programs.
  • Previous work experience in inventory management.
  • Strong knowledge of distribution, supply chain, logistics and accounting.
  • Ability to articulate clearly, professional oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task with little supervision.
  • Previous work experience should demonstrate good interpersonal skills, self-motivation, flexibility, detail-oriented work style, professional appearance and attitude, and ability to effectively communicate with customers/clients at all levels.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment, encouraging teamwork and collaboration among team members.
  • Must demonstrate a collaborative leadership style which promotes teamwork and excellence.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, projecting a strong customer and associate focus.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical capabilities to review and interpret data.
