Job Description

Danfoss Power Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Electronics Technician to join our mechatronics engineering lab team in Plymouth, MN. In this role, you'll support validation testing and product development for our cutting-edge vehicle control systems. You'll be responsible for wiring, soldering, and electronic assembly tasks that are critical to the performance and safety of our test systems. Job Responsibilities

  • Assemble and modify cable harnesses, small circuit boards, and control boxes.
  • Perform high-quality soldering on small components, including SMT and through-hole.
  • Set up and conduct product qualification tests according to internal test procedures and industry standards. Focused on (but not limited to) mechanical & environmental tests to include:
  • Vibration Testing and Analysis
  • Life-Cycle Testing
  • Ingress Protection Testing
  • Stress Testing
  • Temperature Testing
  • Material Testing
    Thermal Testing
  • Build, modify, and troubleshoot wiring for vehicle control systems and related hardware.
    Maintain detailed documentation of test setups, wiring diagrams, and configuration changes.
  • Calibrate and maintain lab instrumentation as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and other technicians to support ongoing validation and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Follow and contribute to lab safety practices and continuous improvement activities.

Background & Skills

Required Qualifications:



  • Associate (AAS) or Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Fluid Power, or a related technical field required.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of relevant work experience in electronics assembly, test, or maintenance.
  • Demonstrated experience in soldering, wiring, and cable harnessing.
  • Proficient in reading electrical schematics and interpreting wiring diagrams.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • IPC 610, J standard certification.
  • Knowledge of LabVIEW is a plus.
  • Experience with test monitoring and programming in thermal chambers or environmental test setups.
  • Familiarity with vibration/shock testing and mechanical test equipment.
  • Prior experience working with vehicle electronics or hydraulic control systems.
  • Knowledge of calibration methods and procedures.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
