Overview

Job Purpose

The Project Management Office (PMO) is the department responsible for the management and delivery of a broad program on behalf of its clients. These programs may comprise of projects ranging from large-scale new business ventures containing major technology upgrades to minor product launches and implementations.

We seek an experienced Senior Manager of PMO to lead project management for the Mortgage Data and AI department. The ideal candidate will manage a team of Project Managers, collaborate with business stakeholders and technology leaders, and maintain project management standards, methodologies, and governance while driving operational excellence and ensuring successful delivery of strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the PMO strategy aligned with organizational objectives
  • Establish standardized project management methodologies, tools, templates, and best practices
  • Lead a team of project managers, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development
  • Build expertise quickly in complex and challenging situations and prioritize across multiple project deliverables with a sense of urgency
  • Create and maintain project portfolio governance frameworks and oversight mechanisms
  • Monitor project health across the organization, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies
  • Drive resource planning and optimization across multiple concurrent projects
  • Establish KPIs and metrics to measure project and portfolio performance
  • Facilitate project portfolio prioritization and strategic alignment reviews
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives for project management practices
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders across the organization
  • Provide executive-level reporting on project status, risks, and outcomes
  • Possess good understanding of the SDLC and hybrid Agile methodologies, particularly change and release management, and apply them to manage projects, issues and risks effectively
  • Effectively capture, publish, maintain and communicate system delivery plans
  • May perform other additional related duties/responsibilities as assigned

Knowledge and Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in project/program management with 5+ years in a PMO leadership role
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, computer science or related field; MBA/Master's preferred
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid approaches)
  • Professional certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent
  • Experience implementing and optimizing PPM tools and systems
  • Proven track record of leading successful large-scale projects
  • Strong leadership skill to manage a team of Project managers
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience in change management and organizational transformation
  • Ability to influence across all levels of the organization
  • Track record of managing and successfully delivering in-house developed software projects
  • Solid understanding of technical risks
  • Good project planning and tracking skills and a track record in using these successfully
  • Excellent management and interpersonal skills adequate for dealing and communicating clearly with the client to senior leadership level
  • Excellent business and technical writing skills adequate for documenting complex assumptions, risks and commitments clearly and unambiguously
  • Ability to work under pressure to support project deadlines
  • Demonstrable ability to be confident, pragmatic and tenacious and work as a self-starter requiring limited supervision
  • Experience of using influencing skills to build consensus and commitment without using line management authority

Preferred

  • Experience of a range of project management methodologies and an ability to adapt any chosen method to meet the needs of a project/program
  • Domain expertise in Mortgage and/or Real Estate technology
  • 10+ years of experience managing projects throughout the delivery life cycle
  • 5+ years of planning and delivering professional presentations to senior management
  • Multiple years of hands-on technical experience either building or testing applications
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Agile/Scrum knowledge/certification desirable
