As the Development Support Manager, you will be managing the dev support team in supporting integrations to the Mercury/HID access control controllers.

You will lead a team of development support engineers and assist with bridging the gap between our development team and partners technical support teams. You will assist in diagnosing and resolving technical issues, contribute to the improvement of our products, and ensure a seamless experience for our customers and partners. You will play a critical role in keeping the team aligned, unblocked, and delivering effectively.

As our Development Support Manager, you'll support HID's successby:



  • Managing and leading the development support team.
  • Mentoring development support engineers.
  • Conducting performance reviews.
  • Providing second-level support for technical inquires related to our products.
  • Providing assistance to developers integrating with our APIs.
  • Educating partners on best practices for deployment and integration.
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software issues, including network and serial communication problems.
  • Assisting with any replicating customer issues.
  • Properly logging defects into the system for engineering to review.
  • Participating and contributing in planning events, workshops, and system demonstrations.
  • Driving and supporting continuous improvement.
  • Interfacing with partners/customers to understand their needs and requirements.
  • Working closely with other engineering and quality teams.



YourExperienceand Background include:



  • Must possess a degree in a technical field, preferably in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess a minimum of 3+ years engineering experience, preferably engineering in electronics industry with experience managing a team.
  • Experience managing remote individuals that may be located in different time zones and/or countries.
  • Programming experience in C/C++, C#, Rust.
  • Web development (HTTP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, RESTful, JSON, XML, MQTT).
  • Experience deploying applications under Linux and Windows.
  • Experience with TCP/IP networking, transport layer protocols including TCP and UDP, and application layer protocols including HTTPS.
  • Experience with diagnostic tools (Wireshark, Postman, curl).
  • Understanding of serial communication protocols (e.g., RS-232, RS-485).
  • Experience with Agile methodologies. Knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) desired.
  • Experience with Jira highly desired.
  • Knowledge of digital certificates.
  • Experience with project management.
  • Experience with access control products/solutions desired.

The wage range for this role considers a broad scope of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At HID, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

The base salary in the United States is $120,000 to $126,000.
