SUMMARY |
The Medical Billing Specialist ensures the accuracy and efficiency of all private pay, insurance, secondary insurance, Medicare, and Medi-Cal billing in skilled nursing facilities, report verification, record maintenance, and all related accounting functions. |

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS |
The duties listed below are considered essential to the successful performance of this position, as defined by Front Porch. Additional responsibilities may be assigned in the future and may also be considered essential to the role: * Accurately process and manage patient billing information for medical transport services. * Review and verify billing reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards. * Maintain meticulous records of billing transactions, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality. * Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies and address patient inquiries. * Responsible for all accounting related to documenting, preparing, and distributing Care Center resident statements. * Responsible for aging/past-due account collections and analysis. * Make recommendations regarding charge-offs. * Responsible for timely follow-up on Medicare, Medi-Cal, HMO, and secondary insurance claims. * Verify insurance for Care Center admissions. * Participate in internal and external financial audits. * Perform all other related duties as assigned.
