Summary / Role Purpose

The Account representative serves as the primary contact between Ansys and customers in an assigned territory or set of named accounts or product/service line. The Account Representative isresponsiblefor maintaining existing customer accounts while also working to create new. AsuccessfulAccount Representative maximizes sales profitability, growth, and account penetration.

Key Duties and Responsibilities



  • Performs sales activities,establishes,developsandmaintainsbusiness relationships with current and/orprospective customers tomaintainrenewal business andgenerate new businessforan assigned geographic area,set ofnamedaccounts or product/service line toachieveor exceed revenueobjectives.





  • Sells products/services through telephone as well as face-to-facecontact.





  • Uncovercustomer'spain points, negativeconsequences,and desired positive businessoutcomes toidentifythe best solution. Clearly present the value ofcompany'sproducts/services through metrics and proof points while tying to thecustomer'sneedsand differentiating from competition.





  • Creates andmaintainsaccount plans for existing customers highlighting profile, shareand valueopportunities.





  • Researchsources for developing prospective customersor expanding to new groupsinexisting customersand for information todeterminetheirpotential.





  • Develops clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current andprospectivecustomers.





  • Coordinatessales effort with marketing,accountteam, salesmanagement,accounting,legaland technical services groups.





  • Providesaccurateforecasts fornew salesand renewalrevenues.





  • Participates in trade shows and conventions; schedules training and seminars to enhancenew businessopportunities.



Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience



  • Education & Years of Experience:Bachelor's degree in technical, engineering,businessor related field with1+ years of experience ofdemonstratedsuccess OR5+ years of experiencedemonstratedsuccess in technical sales positions.





  • Demonstrated understanding of engineering analysis andtechnology.





  • Excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to workindependently.






  • Travel:up to50%



Preferred Qualifications and Skills



  • Fluent in English and in the local language of the territory





  • Demonstrated knowledge ofcompany'sproducts/services and pricingpractices.





  • Knowledge of the specific territory, product line, or customer(s).
