Carnegie Mellon University's division of Student Affairs is searching for a Housefellow and Coordinator of Residential Education roles. Housefellows within Residential Education are principal contributors to the residential student experience and coordinate key critical initiatives within Residential Education that serve the broader student experience while working with campus-wide programmatic initiatives designed to enhance student development. Encompassing more than a traditional residence life position, the Housefellow's role involves serving as students' primary meta-curricular advocate at the university while enhancing their social, academic, intellectual, artistic and personal development. In addition to fulfilling the responsibilities of the Housefellow role, Coordinators for Residential Education also oversee and coordinate a critical initiative within Residential Education. The pivotal initiatives within Residential Education currently align to the core objectives of our residential engagement model, student staff selection, training and development, leadership development, and student success. Candidates with strengths in one or more of these areas should highlight their experiences in the cover letter. The Housefellow role at Carnegie Mellon is a live-on role that serves in the Student Affairs emergency response duty rotation to ensure appropriate management of campus emergencies and crises. Housefellows are provided university-owned or -managed housing that is proximate to campus. Flexibility, excellence, and passion are vital qualities within Student Affairs and Residential Education.
