Overview

To plan, supervise and coordinate security force operations to ensure the safety of the employees, members and physical assets at all Navy Federal locations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily operations of the Security Force including staff scheduling/patrols, equipment testing and special event coordination
  • Monitor and control the access management system (e.g., access assignments, staff schedules, problem identification/resolution, and equipment and software functionality and testing)
  • Supervise the new hire onboarding process including background checks, fingerprinting, ID badge issuance, vehicle registration and decaling, etc.
  • Supervise response during disaster situations and execute established recovery plans in collaboration with Navy Federal functional areas, external law enforcement and first responders
  • Supervise and respond to medical and other site emergencies; ensure staging area is established for first responders
  • Oversee special events including crowd and traffic control functions
  • Provide support and guidance to other sections within Security as well as to other business units (e.g., reporting maintenance issues, providing escorts, etc.)
  • Ensure that work quality, work methods, procedures and processes meet business goals and standards of member service
  • Prepare standard and ad hoc reports and data summaries on section/branch performance
  • Support projects and initiatives within the business unit and/or across the organization
  • Develop and recommend new programs to enhance the performance and efficiency of Security Force operations
  • Ensure that required equipment is purchased and distributed to staff
  • Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and NFCU policies and procedures
  • Oversee shredding and destruction of confidential documents
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Managing critical incidents
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations
  • Prior experience in threat assessments
  • Significant experience in law enforcement or private corporate security operations
  • Significant experience leading and/or supervising a security force operation, preferably in a large financial institution
  • Advanced knowledge of physical security functions, systems, processes and procedures
  • Working knowledge of physical security industry best practices
  • Significant experience supervising and/or leading employees
  • Significant experience working with all levels of staff, management, stakeholders and vendors
  • Ability to obtain and maintain current CPR/AED Certifications
  • Effective skill summarizing information and clearly identifying key elements, patterns, results or relationships
  • Effective skill using innovative thinking to solve problems and facilitate the decision making process
  • Advanced skill interacting with staff, management, vendors and members diplomatically and tactfully
  • Advanced skill exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisions
  • Advanced skill maintaining composure in a stressful and changing environment
  • Advanced experience teaching and practicing de-escalation
  • Advanced organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Advanced research, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced database, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software skills
  • Associate's degree in Criminal Justice, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Unarmed or Armed Security Guard/Officer Certification
  • Experience in emergency operations
  • Advanced knowledge of Navy Federal policies, procedures, products, and services

Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00AM - 4:00PM
