Role Description: Huitt-Zollars is an innovative full-service design firm in need of a leader for the firm's expanding business systems. The Director of Business Systems is responsible for leading, managing, and customizing internal business systems of the organization. He / She is in charge of spearheading the implementation and development of systems within the company. They are responsible for aligning technology with business needs, ensuring systems are effective, scalable, and secure, while driving operational efficiency and business growth through technology. The Director of Business Systems is responsible for all digital tools being used by architects, engineers, and designers as they work to provide high-quality services to clients. As the Director of Business Systems, you will be responsible for managing the selection, deployment, and integration of software solutions to ensure that our design, construction, and internal operational processes are efficient, effective, and aligned with industry standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, (including IT, HR, Business Development, Marketing, Accounting, design, engineering, construction, and project management) to support their use of technologies and drive continuous improvement. - Collaborate with business leaders to understand their needs and identify opportunities for technology solutions.
- Develop and implement strategies for system optimization, process improvement, and automation.
- Manage and optimize various enterprise systems, including ERP, CRM, HCM, and other key platforms.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of new systems and enhancements.
- Manage relationships with software vendors and ensure optimal service delivery.
- Establish and maintain data governance frameworks to ensure integrity and secure access across platforms.
- Lead the development and execution of the company's software strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.
- Oversee the selection, implementation, and integration of software tools into the company's workflow, ensuring seamless compatibility with other software systems.
- Develop and deliver training programs to ensure that team members are proficient in the use of software and best practices. Provide ongoing support to resolve technical issues and maximize the effectiveness of the software.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all software related inquiries across the organization. Collaborate with project teams, IT, and other stakeholders to ensure effective adoption and use of software tools.
- Build relationships with leadership in all technical specialties, practices, and functions to allow for the collaboration needed to properly select and implement digital design tools across the firm.
- Maintain knowledge on the evolving use of digital design tools across the AE industry with the goal of allowing Huitt-Zollars to continue operations as a world-class design firm utilizing the industry's highest quality tools.
- Provide a customer service mentality within the digital practice, continuously working to serve the architects, engineers, designers, and operational support staff within the firm.
- Monitor software performance, usage metrics, and project outcomes. Generate reports and analytics to assess ROI and drive strategic decision-making.
- Ensure all software deliverables meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Architecture, Engineering, or related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in managing design software tools such as Autodesk Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks, BIM 360, or similar platforms.
- Proven experience as a Director of Business Systems or similar role.
- Minimum of 5 years management experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with a variety of stakeholders.
- Certifications (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional, Revit Certified) are highly desirable.
- Familiarity with other software tools such as GIS, VDC (Virtual Design and Construction), and AEC industry-specific technologies is a plus.
