Pay Range

$91,320 - $111,840 Annually for the A01.2 level

This is the lowest to highest salary in good faith we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. Pay will not be below any applicable local minimum wage. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.


Job Description

We have an opening for a Facility Administrator to support the High Explosives Applications Facility (HEAF). You will work independently to plan, execute, and/or provide oversight to a variety of business, workforce, operational and organizational requirements and activities. This position is in the Strategic Deterrence (SD) Directorate.

This position requires full-time on-site presence due to the nature of the work.

In this role, you will

  • Serve as the primary administrative point-of-contact for HEAF; plan, execute, and/or provide oversight to a variety of workforce, operational and organizational requirements and activities.
  • Oversight and management of all administrative processes, including but not limited to the coordination of facility tours, office space management, Hazardous Work Area access requests, and TESA Locks and Keys administration; ensuring compliance with all safety and security requirements.
  • Supervise exempt and non-exempt administrative staff including hiring, supervising, mentoring, career development, disciplinary actions, training, performance appraisals, coordinating work assignments, and providing ranking and salary recommendations.
  • Coordinate and respond to various facility requests, requirements, and deliverables, and perform special assignments as required. Represent the facility on administrative and personnel matters.
  • Represent facility management on self-assessment, audit teams, or work-related committees and lead projects to assess, set and establish protocol and procedures.
  • Solve complex and sensitive problems, develop and implement new techniques and procedures, interpret policy, formulate recommendations and establish procedures to ensure department deliverables are met.
  • Establish and maintain complex databases, spreadsheets, and tracking systems to ensure action items are completed by the required due date andfollow up on pending items.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • This position requires an active Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance or active Top-Secret clearance issued by another U. S. government agency at the time of hire.
  • Experience participating in and leading administrative and operational work activities with leadership and team building skills to effectively build and manage administrative personnel who support multidisciplinary groups.
  • Knowledge and understanding of principles of personnel administration, policies and procedures, and state and federal laws. Knowledge and understanding of HR compliance requirements for personnel administration (FLSA, ADA, EEO, etc.).
  • Experience interacting with all levels of personnel exercising a high degree of discretion, mature judgment, and tact in handling issues of a sensitive nature and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills necessary to effectively explain, present, direct, negotiate and influence others.
  • Administrative and organizational skills, including detail oriented, flexibility and experience independently coordinating and prioritizing multiple and complex work activities, often with conflicting deadlines. Ability to work effectively with short deadlines and frequent interruptions.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills necessary to handle sensitive and confidential issues with tact, discretion, and mature judgment to interact with a diverse group of personalities and disciplines at all levels internal and external to the Laboratory.
  • Proven analytical skills with the ability to anticipate, identify, and resolve complex issues effectively.
  • Advanced knowledge of personal computers and associated software including MS Office applications.
  • Ability to maintain an Explosives Area Aware qualification.

Qualifications We Desire

  • Experience working in SD high hazard facilities.

Hearing aids without wireless capabilities or wireless that has been disabled are allowed in Limited Areas, Secure Space and Transit/Buffer Space within buildings.
