Dunwoody College of Technology is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable faculty member in the college's Web Programming and Database Development program. This position plays a key role in fostering student success by delivering high-quality instruction and actively engaging in the teaching and learning process.
The ideal candidate will focus on continuous improvement and create a dynamic learning environment where students can achieve the course learning objectives. The ultimate goal is to equip students with the knowledge, technical skills, ethical standards, and industry-relevant tools required to meet and exceed professional expectations in the field of web and database development.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
* Facilitates learning activities so that students learn the principles, theory, skills, and work ethic necessary to become proficient for entry level positions
* Creates a positive learning environment
* Monitors, assesses, and advises learner on technical and academic progress and performance
* Uses current academic and industry practices in assigned courses of instruction
* Develops and upgrades lesson material, training aids and maintains equipment within assigned course of instruction
* Develops and delivers course material for classes in at least four of the following areas:
Relational Databases, NoSQL Databases, Python, C#, Java, JavaScript, Node.js, HTML5, CSS, secure programming practices, frontend/backend frameworks, cross-platform development, CI/CD, emerging topics such as AI and Machine Learning.
* Assists in the recruitment and placement of learners
* Recommends equipment purchases for labs/classrooms
* As a part of a team, designs and develops new curriculum within assigned program.
* Provides support, coaching, and guidance to students
* Participates in industry and/or professional organizations to maintain and enhance program health and academic integrity
* Other duties as assigned
Essential Job Functions:
* Ability to work 40 hours per week.
* Excellent computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Ability to learn new computer programs and database management systems and demonstrate proficiency given adequate training.
* Ability to analyze and interpret data.

* To perform the job successfully, must have adequate knowledge of and willingness to use specialized software such as Canvas, ticketing systems and/or other databases/electronic aids, to be as self-sufficient as possible in day-to-day operations.
