Description Supports the Enroute and Oceanic Integration and Interoperability Facility (EOIIF) by conducting a comprehensive system-wide review and analysis of all aspects of the National Airspace System (NAS) development life cycle, particularly the Air Traffic Control (ATC) system, including ATC automation, communications, and navigation and surveillance elements of the NAS. Provides expertise in the transition of legacy systems to modernized systems. Provides system engineering, test engineering and integration to En Route Automation Modernization (ERAM) and En Route Training Voice Communications Tool (ETVCT). Strong problem determination skills, solid troubleshooting experience, and the ability to solve engineering issues in complex systems, and software installation and configuration are highly desired. Specific activities include: Perform problem determination and analysis on all system components Troubleshooting of issues in new software builds and working with software team to resolve issue Demonstrated experience working in Linux platforms and VMWare Demonstrated success in working on large-scale, multi-disciplined programs in large corporate environment System check-out activities of new software builds (system is built with Java, C++, and some Ada), must have strong integration skills Support other tasks as appropriate to support the development/test teams Position Requirements The System Engineer shall have the following skill/experience level: Minimum Bachelor's Degree 20+ Years of Experience System administration for high-availability systems Linux and VMware troubleshooting experience Familiarization with NetApp Storage Systems Software language: strong working knowledge of shell scripting Good communication and interpersonal skills Lab test execution and troubleshooting Familiarization with the Atlassian Tool Suite, JIRA, and Webstat. Desired skills include knowledge of FAA systems, air traffic management, and tower controller understanding. Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time Education Bachelor's Degree in engineering (civil, electrical, electronic, chemical, industrial, mechanical, aeronautical, systems or computer) or Physical Sciences (e.g., mathematics, physics, meteorology, chemistry, etc.). 10 years of relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's Degree. Master's Degree in related field may be substituted for Bachelor's degree and 3 years experience.
