Description

The Dealer Sales Representative is responsible for developing relationships with dealers selling autos and other collaterals as added to our product list. This role also supports the financial soundness of the credit union by developing a strong pipeline of new business. This position requires regular travel to dealer locations and meetings with dealer finance managers one-on-one, as well as via the telephone, for the purpose of originating indirect loans and expanding the credit union's dealer base, loan volume, and market share.

Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with current and prospective auto dealers within the assigned territory.
  • Serve as the credit union's representative for all indirect lending inquiries, promotions, and training with dealer staff.
  • Solicit new business and onboard new dealerships into the Indirect Lending program.
  • Ensure dealer partners understand credit union policies, loan products, funding processes, and pricing.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and annual production goals for indirect auto loan volume.
  • Conduct regular dealer visits to strengthen partnerships, deliver training, and collect feedback.
  • Work closely with underwriting and funding teams to ensure loans are processed efficiently and accurately.
  • Monitor dealer performance, approval ratios, look-to-book, charge-off trends, and compliance with program guidelines.
  • Analyze loan quality and proactively address trends with dealership personnel.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of competitor programs and provide recommendations for product and pricing improvements.
  • Represent the credit union at auto industry events, dealer association meetings, and networking opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Must have the ability to travel within the credit union's service areas during the work week and will require overnight travel.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and maintain good driving record to fulfill the essential role as a Dealer Sales Representative.
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, and possess excellent time management skills.
  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of the features and benefits of all credit union indirect loan products and services, along with working knowledge of credit union operating services.
  • Must have demonstrated strong sales and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have in-depth understanding of dealer functions related to financing member needs.
