Overview Come join us at Con Edison as a Tech Lead - Systems Specialist, where you will be responsible for leading system development and vendor implementation efforts, from project initiation through post implementation support. This role will report to IT Business Solutions Delivery OMS. This role will initiate the efforts, lead the internal IT Outage Management Systems (OMS) and cross-functional teams as required, engage vendors and company stakeholders, and monitor and control all project activity throughout the project life cycle.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Leads and coordinates project activities and routine application support with stakeholders in IT and the Business.
- Leads and manages a team of IT professionals.
- Oversees the design and implementation and overall architecture of the OMS and associated applications.
- Works with the IT OMS and Integration partner teams to implement a robust set of services.
- Identifies business requirements and creates a plan of action.
- Works with the OMS, broader IT team, and business users to optimize the application for maximum speed and scalability.
- Coordinates with the Vendors, System Integrators, Product Designers and Architects to translate requirements into technology solutions.
- Leads integration of frontend and backend aspects of the application.
- Leads requirements governance and collaborates with business stakeholders throughout the planning and implementation process.
- Provide training and demonstration to OMS users as required.
- Exercise responsibilities as the lead on OMS initiatives and projects, holding responsibility for developing solutions to business needs and resolving issues as they occur.
- Provide OMS storm and weather event support services. Serve as the OMS Unit leader on rotation.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience
- Master's Degree Computer Science, Math/Science, or Engineering, or any IT - Related Degree and (3) years of relevant IT experience working experience in supporting IT systems of a large user base, focused on Software engineering, System Analysis or
- Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Math/Science, or Engineering, or any IT - Related Degree and (5) years of relevant IT experience working experience in supporting IT systems of a large user base, focused on Software engineering, System Analysis or
- Associate's Degree Computer Science, Math/Science, or Engineering, or any IT - Related Degree and (7) years of relevant IT experience working experience in supporting IT systems of a large user base, focused on Software engineering, System Analysis

- Must have ability to learn new technology as required for the job using documentation and other available resources, required.
- People Management experience, required.
- Experience leading a team to perform project management functions and deliver complex and critical projects, required.
- Ability to anticipate, identify and manage resolutions of critical obstacles, required.
- Able to act as a coach and mentor for assigned team members with the ability to transfer knowledge to various audiences, required.
- Flexibility to work on multiple assignments with changing priorities and stay on schedule/on budget, required.
- Ability to present technical and non-technical topics to different levels of management, required.
- Experience in troubleshooting data flow components and applications to ensure seamless operation, required.
- Ability to write and Optimize database queries using SQL to extract and manipulate data efficiently, required.
- Experience in evaluating and assessing technology architecture components for optimal performance, required.
- Strong knowledge of Network Outage Management Systems, Electric Model administration, preferred.
- Knowledge of architecture and programming/scripting experience, preferred.

- The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
