Job Overview
In coordination with the Deputy Program Manager (DPM), the Logistics Supervisor will assist in providing leadership, planning, and scheduling to the logistics team, that includes the supervision of exempt and bargaining unit staff. The supervisor is responsible for the management of customer expectations, all contract related warehousing, and ensuring all day-to-day operational requirements are being met. The supervisor will provide oversight and support for personnel issues, procurement activities, quality control, and safety programs. The supervisor will actively participate in project planning, estimating, negotiations, execution, closeout, and related contract support. The supervisor will assist the DPM in implementing processes/tracking metrics to ensure responsiveness to customer requirements, timely completion of project milestones, maximize workload, plan efficiencies, and manage business improvement initiatives. This exempt position is located at the NASA/White Sands Test Facility in Las Cruces NM. Position is temporary with a possibility of becoming fulltime, regular if needed. Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- Oversees and executes Logistics Operations, Mail Management and Real Property functions. Responsible for knowing the end-to-end processes and be able to perform the following: oversight of receiving, issuing, property accountability functions, disposal, and transportation operations including management of GSA fleet in accordance with government guidance and industry best practices.
- Develops and maintains reports in accordance with Government and Company guidelines; including but not limited to, quarterly accrual reports, management plan, status reports, accident/incident reports, contractor-acquired property and other materials reports, and annual/final inventory report of government furnished property.
- Plans, schedules, and implements all audits, inventories, and activities including but not limited to, scheduling of daily routines and/or customer logistics requirement or requests. Lead the development of the logistics services process for shipping, receiving, storage, transfer, delivery, packing and crating, and disposition of property.
- Examines and diagnoses setbacks to determine corrective actions/process improvements. Ensures procedures are being followed to the highest level of quality standards.
- Supervises and manages work schedules for assigned personnel. Delegates work to assigned direct reports.
- Coordinates and administers employee training in end-to-end lifecycle logistics functions, Standard Operating Procedures, Material Handling Equipment (MHE) operations, and weekly safety standdowns.
- Oversees staff activities concerning the procurement of material and meeting customer requirements.
- Manages, prepares, and delivers staff's performance evaluations/appraisals, as well as performance deficiencies and recommendations.
- Facilitates the collection and dissemination of employee leave requests, sign in/out sheets, timesheets, and other administrative functions.
- Coordinates all efforts in conjunction with the Deputy Program Manager/Branch Manager. Consults and advises management personnel of logistics projects and priorities. Attends departmental meetings.
- Must be flexible and respond in a timely fashion to changing requirements, strategic plans for tasks, and short deadlines. Resolves customer complaints and inquires in accordance with established procedures and guidelines; for those issues that cannot be resolved direct customer to appropriate personnel.
- Identifies innovative methods to enhance the quality and accuracy of the logistics operations databases.
- Provides data for key performance indicator (KPI) with metrics to monitor and improve departmental performance. Adeptly adjust measurements of processes and systems.
- Adheres to the established Wolf Creek Federal Services (WCFS) & White Sands Test Facility (WSTF) safety and personnel policies and standard operating procedures.
- Operates government or WCFS owned motor vehicles including box trucks, vans, and pick-up trucks (CDL not required) and/or other equipment.

- Providing all Data Required Deliverables (DRDs) reports per the contractual obligations.
- Familiarity with record filing and property inventory/management.
- Familiarity with basic mathematical functions is required.
- Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
- Mature judgement and ability to perform assigned work tasks with minimal supervision. Having the ability to work well under pressure.
- Dress must be appropriate for the position and not pose a safety risk or hazard to the employee or others in accordance with NASA and Company
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
- Position requires two (2) year degree in field of Logistics, Supply, and/or Property with eight (8) years' experience in property management and/or related field or any equivalent combination of education/experience for a total of ten (10) years. Minimum of two (2) years direct supervisory experience required.
- Use of MS Office Tools; Excel and Word at an intermediate to advance proficiency level.
- Ability to pass pre-hire background and drug screen.
- Ability to obtain and maintain the required level clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Valid state driver's license with acceptable driving record.
Working Conditions:
- Desk/office work and test area work.
- Some field work may be necessary. Travel to remote sites/locations may be required.
- Walking on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/sand is required to access various locations on the facility.
- Work hours are subject to change, with weekend and/or holiday work as needed. May be required to work outside normal duty hours.
Physical Requirements:
- Work is performed primarily in an office setting. This job may involve walking, standing, bending, reaching, and handling of items weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Work requires the ability to operate a computer and work in a standard office environment, effectively communicate information in verbal and written form, read and review information and charts, perform analytical thinking skills, use sound judgement.
- Position is located on a hazardous testing facility; must be able to quickly evacuate buildings in the event of an emergency.
