Senior Systems Engineer
Purpose:
- Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate opening for a part-time Senior Systems Engineer to support the Combat System Integration Laboratory (CSIL) and Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) tasking at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD) in Port Hueneme, CA.
Job Description:
- Performs high level engineering support on Navy surface ship combat systems (including virtual) requiring comprehensive knowledge and training on specialty systems.
- Considered technically competent on specialty systems. Recommend changes in technical application.
- Develops and applies advanced methods in investigation and finds solutions for difficult military and laboratory system design requirements and problems.
- Plans, conducts, and directs projects including coordinating the efforts of engineers and technical staff in the performance of assigned tasks, developing schedules, and providing recommendations on best paths forward.
- Demonstrated experience in the analysis of recommended changes and in determining the impact on system performance and user functionality.
- Evaluates system capabilities. Reviews completion of work including system enhancements and the function of integrated equipment.
- Position requires comprehensive knowledge and ability to resolve complex problems and provide solutions.
- Full knowledge of industry practices. Ability to lead and train others.
- Ability to communicate technical information in an understanding manner.
Qualifications:
- Must have a Master's degree in related field and at least 8 years' experience in the design operation and/or maintenance of complex U.S. Navy Surface Combat Systems.
- Must have experience with the management of projects associated with the integration of virtual combat systems to other systems and equipment.
- Must have experience in reading design documents, evaluating high level interface block diagrams, evaluating commercial equipment, and providing recommendations on the integration of equipment with virtual combat systems.

Security Requirements:
- Must have an Active DoD Secret clearance and the ability to maintain a clearance.
Travel Requirements:
- 5% travel possible.
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.

Pay Range: $100 - $110 per hour
