Duties: Responsible for timely and accurately reporting insurance premium and claim statistical data
pertaining to workers' compensation and the company's liability lines of business, including all
aspects of data quality and analysis of assigned premium and claim data being sent to insurance reporting
bureaus and agencies. Deliver accurate data to downstream data consumers both internally and externally.
Identify issues that could put the company at risk of lowering regulatory reporting data grades or status
with various Insurance Bureaus. Ensure integrity of data in database and warehouse for reporting and
analytical purposes. Develop and utilize SQL queries, Power BI dashboards, and other appropriate technical
tools to aid the Regulatory Reporting team in analyzing and trending data and data related issues. Assist in the
review, analysis, and maintenance of regulatory criteria changes needed to reporting platforms utilized by the
Regulatory Reporting team. Review and analyze premium and claim related criticisms, errors, validation
requests and other data issues from our Regulatory Reporting Bureaus. Identify solutions, collaborate with
appropriate internal and external stakeholders, and make appropriate corrections to data to satisfy
the Bureau's issues. Review and communicate Insurance Bureau reporting-related requests, notices and
changes that impact the team and their processes; identify workflow enhancements and system enhancements
needed to comply with Insurance Bureau requests and bulletins. Resolve and track system-related issues
reported by regulatory reporting team and perform user acceptance testing. Investigate and identify data
quality issues affecting analysis and reporting; address root cause of data programs and develop
recommendations to resolve issues; and partner with data source stakeholders to implement resolutions.
Analyze and validate data completeness, consistency, accuracy, and compliance to data standards
and principles. Complete data profiling activities to ensure completeness and accuracy relative to the quality
specifications for the data. Investigate, evaluate, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of current data
requirements and processes and develop strategies for improving these processes.
Requires: 3 years of post-secondary study in Computer Science, Engineering Management, Data Science,
Business Analytics, or a closely-related field. 3 years of experience in any data analytics role in IT, program
management, data analytics, finance or compliance. 3 years of experience in conducting queries of relational
databases using standard SQL to extract, analyze, and reconcile large sums of data. 3 years of experience in
performing root-cause analysis of issues and developing action plans based on that analysis. Demonstrated
experience handling premium and/or loss regulatory reporting matters involving workers' compensation, auto
liability and/or general liability lines of business for or on behalf of an insurance company.
