HX5 is seeking a General Engineerto supportthe Theatre Battle Control Division (AFLCMC/HBD),at Hill AFB in Ogden Utah. The Theater Battle Control Division is responsible for managing efforts focused on developing, acquiring, fielding, and sustaining programs that support worldwide communications and critical C2ISR (Command & Control, Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance) capabilities. These include Battle Management, Tactical Air Control, Air/Ground Surveillance, Time Critical Targeting, Combat Identification, Radar Imagery, Integrated Air/Missile Defense, and Mobile/Fixed C2ISR Performance, Exploitation & Dissemination Facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include, but not limited to:
Design & Architecture
- Lead engineering and technical activities throughout the system acquisition lifecycle.
- Prepare key documentation such as Analysis of Alternatives (AoA), Systems Engineering Plans (SEP), and technical assessments.
- Plan and execute technical reviews (e.g., CDR, MRA, TIM) and develop supporting artifacts.
- Conduct system architecture analyses and develop/maintain MBSE-based architectures.
- Translate DoD user requirements into technical system specifications.
- Ensure interoperability and lifecycle sustainment of system architectures.
- Evaluate system training and simulator requirements.
Acquisition
- Apply DoD acquisition and sustainment systems engineering processes.
- Review and prepare technical specifications, drawings, and milestone documentation.
- Use digital engineering, simulation, and analytical tools to validate system performance.
- Monitor contractor documentation for compliance with ASME and Air Force standards.
Technical Management
- Support requirements analysis, system design, integration, and validation activities.
- Conduct market research and trade studies to assess emerging technologies.
- Evaluate system performance, reliability, risk, and lifecycle cost.
- Develop Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMP) and execute developmental/operational testing.
- Contribute to integrated logistics support including configuration management, provisioning, and sustainment planning.
Education and Experience:
Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience:
MS or Doctorate in a related field and 10 years of experience, 5 of which must be DoD
Bachelor's degree and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 5 of which must be in the DoD
Must have a Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
Experience may include support for USAF systems in the following areas:
- Command or control reporting systems
- Tactical radar systems
- Shelters and radomes
- Aircraft trainer pods
- Radios and communication systems
- Electronic Warfare (EW) systems
- Threat emitter systems
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week and offers a flexible work schedule Monday through Friday during core business hours.
Other Position Requirements:
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
- Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance by date of hire.
- Must be able to travel, including air travel.
