- Summary of Position: (Brief description of overall responsibilities and function)
Responsible for ensuring all technical aspects of AW609 Avionics system and certification. This includes Avionics systems equipment level, Systems Level and Aircraft Level troubleshooting, testing and certification.
- Manage and develop the AW609 Avionics Team including performance evaluations, support career growth and learning objectives, and provide the encouragement and guidance to ensure their success.
- Deliver, manage, and execute System Specific Certification Plans (SSCPs) including review, integration, and approval of designs, plans/analyses/test results to show compliance at system, component, and discipline level and to satisfy AW609 program objectives.
- Understand, review, and endorse how the design solution and the process satisfy the Airframe & Structural Systems requirements when considered at integration level.
- Manage project requirements & provide periodic project statuses and metrics to Senior Engineering and Program Leadership.
- Act as primary interface with the FAA as the type design authority for these disciplines with responsibility for showing compliance.
- Work with local and globally located colleagues to develop plans (cost and schedule) to achieve program goals. Utilize EVMS data to identify and mitigate critical path activities.
- Support industrialization, continued airworthiness, customer support/training, sales & marketing, and post-TC development activities for responsible system or discipline.
- Proactively manage changes in the design, system, and project scope, identify system critical paths and install contingency and mitigation plans as required.
- Provide strong leadership skills to direct and define clear objectives for system and/or disciplines that are aligned with internal and external program requirements.

Act as Primary FAA interface with the responsibility to ensure design compliance, maintaining close interaction with airworthiness authorities, including authorities' representatives (FAA) and delegates (DER), and involving day-by-day technical exchanges, recurring meetings and reviews. |

Support the technical certification activities for the AW609 Avionics System, planning and execution through demonstration of design compliance with applicable rules, including definition of System Certification Plan, Certification Test Plans, Certification Test Reports and Issue Papers. |

Support activities for equipment request of conformity and qualification test setup. Support discussions and review for equipment certification process, including DO-178 SW and DO 254 HW SOI Process Assurance with authorities. Support AW609 avionics testing and analysis, necessary to show compliance with certification rules consistent with program priorities and departmental best practices. |

Coordinate the substantiation of type design documentation required to meet the approved certification basis, providing expertise for resolution of non-compliance, support releasing of test plans/reports in accordance to program milestones. |

Support onsite prototypes technical activities and manufacturing line acting as Engineering POC leading the AWPC avionics specialists in US. Work closely with the technical disciplines Chief Projects of the main LH Engineering Cross-Geo Organization in Italy |

- Qualifications for Position:
A. Education
BS degree in Electrical, Electronics or Aerospace Engineering; |
B. Experience
1. Minimum 10 years of experience participating in transport-category certification programs (Part 27, Part 25 and/or Part29) including Five+ years of technical experience involved in design, test, and analysis of avionics and electrical components and systems for developmental aircraft including cockpit integration expertise. 2. Project Management experience required. |
C. Competencies & Attributes

Strong understanding of avionics equipment and system integration and testing to show compliance to system and certification requirements of safety critical systems. Understanding and practical experience in environmental qualification practices i.a.w. DO-160 standards. Strong understanding of avionics test bench methods. Preferably understanding of software development Assurance methods i.a.w. DO-178 standards. |

Practical experience with FAA compliance and certification processes. |

Strong analytical and design skills. Proven experience to create plans, communicate them, and execute them efficiently across a diverse and complex organization. EVMS experience preferred. |
