Director, Contingent Labor

What you will be doing:

The Director of Contingent Labor is responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing the company's contingent workforce strategy. This includes oversight of all non-employee labor programs, including independent contractors, temporary workers, and statement-of-work (SOW) consultants. The role will build strong partnerships across HR, Legal, and departmental leaders to ensure compliance, cost-efficiency, and alignment with workforce planning goals.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibility #1 - 100%

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive contingent workforce strategy aligned with business objectives.

  • Lead the management and optimization of vendor relationships, staffing agencies, and VMS (Vendor Management Systems) platforms.

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, and internal policies related to non-employee labor.

  • Collaborate with legal, and HR to manage contracts, SOWs, and onboarding/offboarding workflows.

  • Provide insights and reporting on contingent workforce metrics such as cost, utilization, performance, and ROI.

  • Standardize processes to improve the speed, quality, and compliance of hiring contingent labor.

  • Manage technologies that support scalable workforce management.

  • Lead a team that administers the program.

  • Stay informed on market trends, legal updates, and best practices.

Required Qualifications

Work Experience:

Years of Applicable Experience - 7 or more years

Education:

Bachelors (Required)

Required Certifications/Licensing

  • Certification in contingent workforce or procurement management (e.g., CCWP, SOW Management).

Preferred Qualifications

Skills:

  • HR Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder management skills.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and vendor negotiation skills

Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in contingent labor, workforce strategy, talent acquisition, or HR operations.

  • Proven experience managing contingent workforce programs.

  • Strong understanding of employment classifications, co-employment risk, and contractor compliance.

  • Experience with VMS platforms (Beeline preferred).

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.

Working Conditions: Air conditioned office space Travel Requirements: No travel required Physical Demands: Sedentary: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves remaining stationary most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if movement is required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met. Premier's compensation philosophy is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly skilled employees. Premier's internal salary range for this role is $99,000 - $185,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location. Premier utilizes a wide-range salary structure to allow base salary flexibility within our ranges.
