Job Description

Location: Charlotte, NC (candidate will have the flexibility to work out of their home office but must reside in Charlotte, NC)

Schedule: Full-time, Exempt | Report to ORC's Charlotte, NC office1-2 times per week

What You'll Do



  • Manage key aspects of general ledger accounting to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial transactions
  • Support the accounting team across core functions, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), cash management, and financial statement reconciliations
  • Monitor outstanding receivables and manage collections to maintain healthy cash flow
  • Perform timely and accurate balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Assist in preparing clear, comprehensive financial statements that reflect the organization's financial health
  • Collaborate with team members to streamline workflows and improve the efficiency of accounting processes

Minimum Requirements:



  • Bachelor's Degree in related field OR aminimum of three (3) years of relevant accounting, administrative, or data entry experience:

    • Must includeone (1) year of general ledger accounting experience


  • Demonstrate knowledge in general ledger accounting including AP, AR, cash management and financial statement reconciliation
  • Must be proficient with MS Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook

    • Must be able to create/use pivot tables and V-lookups, add/delete rows and columns, sort and filter, search for data within a workbook and other basic formatting.


  • Must have an iOS or Android smartphone to be able to access ORC's systems
  • Comfortable working in an electronic environment
  • Valid driver's license required



Bonus Points if you have knowledge of bookkeeping, financial income statement preparation, budget forecasting, variance analysis. working knowledge of the AASHTO Audit Guidelines for federally funded contracts and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and/or can demonstrateproficiency in automated job cost accounting and project management similar to Vision, Vantagepoint, Sema 4, Wind2, Timberline, BST, Great Plains, MAS 90 or Axium.

The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for benefits and employee travel reimbursements.

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to clearly communicate and exchange information in person, via phone and email. Substantial repetitive movements of the wrists, hands and/or fingers due to high amounts of computer usage and typing. Expected to spend long spans of time in front of a computer screen. Able to read, understand and interpret department related documents and data. This is a largely sedentary role; however, the employee is occasionally required to move about inside the office to access files, office equipment and to interact with other members of the staff. This employee is required to occasionally travel to government buildings which involves time driving; sometimes for long durations.
