Job Description:

This position is currently able to work remotely from a home office location for day-to-day operations unless occasional travel for meetings, collaborative activities, or team building activities is specified by leadership. This is subject to change based on amendments and/or modifications to the ACG Flex Work policy.

Leave of Absence Coordinator- The Auto Club Group

What you will do:

Coordinate all aspects of employee leave of absence in compliance with federal, state and company policies. Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding leave inquiries and function as a liaison between our employees and the outsourced leave of absence administrator to ensure a seamless and efficient leave process. Track and monitor employee leave statuses, ensuring timely communication and accurate record-keeping within the HRIS system and the outsourced leave administrator. Provide guidance and support to employees as needed and answer routine questions from managers regarding the process. Coordinate with the outsourced leave administrator and managers to coordinate return to work requirements and accommodations. Partner with the outsourced leave administrator to resolve any issues or discrepancies related to leave claims or administration.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Manage internally administered leaves (Military, PPL, PLOA). Managing all aspects linked to internal process of disability leaves, paid parental leaves, personal leaves, and military leaves, including compliance w/Federal, state & local leave laws.
  • Consistent interpretation of ACG policies.
  • Coordination and management of HRIS and payroll
  • Coordination of RTW, and twelve-month termination Respond to employee inquiries
  • Process the LOA status adjustments in Workday
  • Confirmation of status: WC, hours worked, multiple hire dates, temporary employee, earnings, etc.
  • Manage Religious accommodations
  • Perform other duties as needed to include:
    • IT computer and equipment return
    • Drug screens based on department need

We are looking for candidates who:

Required Qualifications (these are the minimum requirements to qualify):

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of experience in Human Resources; with employees in multiple states a focus on leave of absence processes
  • Managing multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Communicating complex information effectively with all levels of management, employees

Knowledge of:

  • Strong understanding of federal and state leave laws

Skills:

  • Strength in interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to empathize and effectively explain complex information
  • Critical thinking skills with an initiative-taking approach to addressing employee needs
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Education:

  • At least one certification in related HR disciplines, i.e., PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SCP
  • Certification in a Leave of Absence specialty

Experience:

  • Human Resources experience in the Leave of Absence space
  • Workday
  • 1-2 years of experience working with an outsourced leave of absence model
  • Experience working with a 3rd party benefits vendor
