Position Purpose |
The Visual Resource, Technology, and Communications Assistant provides high-level administrative support in the Department of Art History, assisting faculty with image and scanning needs for teaching, research, presentations, and publications; maintaining the department's visual resource center technology equipment and assisting with classroom technology needs; and promoting the department through communications and marketing outreach. This role will report to the Department Administrator and will also assist with department events and general administrative workflows as needed. |

Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities |
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in an administrative support role working with technology and design
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Digital literacy in visual resources pertinent to the study of art history including but not limited to museum websites, open access image sources, heritage site material, etc.
- Full fluency and competency in the Adobe Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign; full fluency and competency using a Mac and scanning hardware
- Willingness to train students on using technologies in the classroom as needed; interpersonal skills for interfacing with students and faculty

- Bachelor's degree in design or communications
- Experience in marketing and promotion of higher education programs

- Help consult with faculty to integrate digital resources into teaching and research.
- Coordinates with Classroom Technology Services regarding technology needs within Carpenter Hall and the Art History assigned classrooms.

Communications Assistance
- Promotes the department's courses and events through marketing and outreach, including original design work for department posters.
- Promotes the ongoing work of the department, highlighting student research, faculty research, and department activities.
- Prepares an annual department newsletter to be sent to alumni and supporters of Art History at Dartmouth.
