Job Description
As a Senior Financial Analyst in the North America Supply Chain Accounting team you'll partner with the Global Accounting Organization (GAO), Tax, Engineering, and Finance organizations to drive process excellence and maintain accurate external financial statements in compliance with US GAAP requirements. In this role you will be responsible for leading accounting, reporting, and control activities, including: providing policy guidance to the manufacturing networks and tax, evaluating business transactions against changing accounting and regulatory rules, providing direction to execution teams in CapGemini, as well as supporting a variety of strategic projects across the GAO and Supply Chain. This role is uniquely positioned to gain both technical accounting skills and a perspective on the processes and decisions supporting General Mills' complex supply chain. It also has a deep system component. - Own accounting expertise related to fixed assets and storeroom parts across the North America warehouse and manufacturing plant networks, as well as corporate departments.
- Collaborate across functions to drive process excellence, the accuracy of financial results, and development of accounting and controls capabilities throughout the organization.
- Represent GAO in projects across supply chain and global accounting to create new tools, design processes to support new strategies, and provide clarity about results. Examples include the use of bots, working toward global standardization, and preparing user-friendly training & tools for different audiences.
- Collaborate with business partners to improve accuracy of financial records and efficiency and effectiveness of controls.
Accounting Functional Excellence
- Follow and comply with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and current financial legislation for financial statements.
- Oversee accounting procedures, controls, and processes for fixed assets and storeroom parts. Develop sustainable solutions for all identified control gaps and ensure they are implemented in a manner consistent with global standard process. Create tools and training to proactively drive efficiency and proper accounting treatment.
- Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close, and reporting of all financial information. This includes both Income Statement and Balance Sheet responsibility, as well as involvement in acquisitions and divestitures.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- 3-7 years' experience in Accounting and Controls
- Ability to build trusting relationships and effectively communicate and influence across the organization
- Strong process/project leadership
- High level of efficiency and accuracy and ability to analyze large amounts of data
- Strong ERP knowledge
- English proficiency required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) license preferred
- SAP experience preferred
- Supply Chain accounting experience preferred

- We are open to 100% remote candidates with travel based on business needs.

The salary range for this position is $81000.00 - $121700.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role.
