Overview
This position provides technical support and expertise for all HR systems including core HR, Recruiting, Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, and Performance Management. Collaborates across the HR team to evaluate requirements and recommend solutions to enable HR service delivery and automated solutions. Acts as the liaison with IT to ensure system modifications meet changing demands. Designs and develops reports and solutions that meet the HR department and business needs. Ensures interfaces between HRIS and vendors are accurate and reviewed appropriately. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements. *Please note this position will be Hybrid from our Charlotte, NC or Branchville, NJ office.
Responsibilities
- Supports the core HRIS system and all HR systems providing support to end users. This includes but is not limited to: UKG (including Ultimate Time Management), recruiting, onboarding, case management and document management modules, business intelligence, employee survey tool, benefit administration, performance management, and employee recognition system.
- Responsible for the project management of system upgrades and new implementations as assigned, working with IT, HR, and external vendors. Coordinates and participates in the testing of system upgrades and new system implementations and researches and resolves unexpected results or design flaws. Develops test plans and documents.
- Partners with vendors and business areas in the development and/or changes of interfaces. Determines appropriate tools for building and/or changing the interface. Ensures that interface development and testing adhere to defined schedule and that business requirements are satisfied.
- Remains current with HR technology and trends and recommends best-practices for data collection and consumption. Actively ensures data integrity throughout all HR technology systems.
- Drives process evaluation and re-engineering. Recommends and implements automated solutions supporting process re-engineering. Recommends and builds new workflows in core HR systems.
- Develops complex Cognos reports and dashboards for HR and external business partners. Documents development, schedules reoccurring reports, and ensures accuracy and sign-off. Implements audit controls and ensures proper security and distribution.
- Serves as a technical liaison to the Benefits, Compensation, Recruiting, HR Business Partners, HR Shared Services and Talent functions, to identify business and Human Resource needs. Applies technical and business principles to create process solutions and identifies alternate solutions as necessary.
- Provides client support for all HR systems. Creates training tutorials, job aids and other documentation and provides end-user training, troubleshooting services, technical direction, and training for the HR team to ensure effective utilization of HR systems. Assists with the roll-out and communication related to new systems and initiatives.
- Reviews system security and trouble shoots issues, making changes as necessary. Works closely with HRIS team to ensure roles are accurately defined and documented. Develops and maintains email notifications and workflows. Works closely with HRIS Director to document controls for auditing and SOX.
- Conducts audits to ensure data integrity, including secure storage of HR and PII data. Communicates data issues to data owners for resolution. Recommends and implements strategies to prevent data inaccuracies.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Requirements
- Excellent research, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Advanced MS Office skills, particularly Excel with primary focus on spreadsheet analysis and development.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent listening skills to understand needs, and ability to probe for clarity when needed.
- Excellent customer service and client relationship skills.
Education and Experience
- College degree in computer science or related field preferred.
- 5+ years working with UKG software; experience with Recruiting, Onboarding, UTM, People Assist and Document Manager modules is strongly preferred.
- 3+ years Business Intelligence/Cognos experience required.
- Diligent problem solver, with a track record of business process optimization and improvement.

The actual base salary is based on geographic location, and the range is representative of salaries for this role throughout Selective's footprint. Additional considerations include relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, performance, and business needs.
Pay Range
USD $92,000.00 - USD $127,000.00 /Yr.
