PART TIME (2O HOURS) 8:00AM TO 6:30PM SATURDAY AND SUNDAY GENERAL SUMMARY: The Behavioral Health Services (BHS) Inpatient and Residential Social Worker works with interdisciplinary team consisting of medical and psychiatry providers and other disciplines in developing and managing treatment plans. Serves as liaison in relation to patient care and needs, between the hospital, community, and insurers to facilitate access to clinical treatment for individuals. Provides social services to both adult and child/adolescent patients. Services include, but are not limited to bio-psychosocial assessments, discharge planning, individual and family education. Provides individual, conjoint, group and family psychotherapy in addition to crisis intervention services, as needed. Ensures that the quality of care is safe, effective, patient centered timely, efficient, and equitable. Social workers also serve on designated committees and as qualified, may serve as field instructors for social work interns. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Master's degree in Social Work. Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective social work care plans. Ability to perform a wide variety of professional social work services. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Licensed Social Worker (LMSW) with a valid, unrestricted State of Michigan license. Requirement for social workers who work with primary substance use disorder: Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) certification thru the Michigan Board of Addiction Professionals (MCBAP) or have a CAADC Development Plan thru MCBAP or obtain development plan with 90 days of hire date.
