This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will push the boundaries of what's possible in security management for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of maritime security operations - physical security, threat management and investigations. This position will have matrix reporting to the Regional Security Manager Sr and Orbital Launch Site (OLS) Executive Management and directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Maritime Security Specialists (Boat Operators / Maintainers).
  • Plan and execute maritime security missions in support of commercial space launches, tests, and at-sea recovery efforts.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain maritime security standards and procedures at the enterprise and local levels.
  • Operate and maintain a fleet of maritime security boats and associated support equipment.
  • Develop a pattern of life assessment and domain awareness of maritime traffic for test, launch, and recovery operations.
  • Conduct Security Risk Assessments as needed.
  • Ensure enterprise security technology integration (CCTV, Access Control, etc.) with maritime security operations and support physical security as a team member
  • External security vendor management as required.
  • Support guard force operation management.
  • Support Insider Threat Program Management.
  • Support Critical Incident Management and situational threat event analyses.
  • Investigations - internal employee misconduct, criminal and threats matters.
  • Liaison with Federal, State, and Local law enforcement authorities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or a mix of government Maritime Law Enforcement and/or corporate maritime security operations and management experience (7+ years).
  • Operator-level understanding of the local and federal Maritime Domain Awareness protocols.
  • Operator-level understanding federal migration and customs law.
  • Experience operating and maintaining a fleet of security boats and equipment.
  • Wide-ranging experience in maritime border security operations, both at and between the ports of entry.
  • Functional experience in maritime security project management.
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. government Top Secret security clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion

Desired:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Homeland Security, or National Security related field.
  • Managerial and investigative experience in Criminal investigations and experience in National Security matters.
  • Project Management and functional experience in critical incident management, command post operations and technology, and threat assessments.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. government Top Secret security clearance.
  • Current ASIS - Certified Protection Professional (CPP) in security management.
  • Foreign language proficiency, Spanish preferred.
