Meridell Achievement Center is seeking a Therapeutic Recreational Activities Coordinator to join its fun and energetic Recreation Therapy department!

As a Therapeutic Recreation Activities Coordinator you will:

  • Assist in providing support to therapeutic recreation services and assist with coordination of hospital-wide activities
  • Comply with all Administrative, Clinical, and Human Resources policies and procedures and maintain a safe work environment
  • Actively support the mission, philosophy, and goals for the hospital
  • Participates in program and department meetings and special event committees as required and complete duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Therapeutic Recreation or related field
  • Valid Class C Driver's License or State issued Id (with good driving record)
  • Certified Lifeguard
  • Ropes and Therapeutic Recreational Assistant Certification preferred
  • Minimum of two years' experience in in a psychiatric or rehabilitation setting
  • Experience working with children and/or adolescents is preferred
  • Current CPR required (Meridell willing to provide training)
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Must be physically fit to demonstrate and conduct recreation activities for the patients
  • Must be able to communicate in writing and verbally
