DET - Shift 1 ($0) (United States of America - Michigan)

A BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Machine Operator, Coating Robot, TPS is responsible for performing and maintaining basic programs and changing off-sets on a CNC style coating Robot as well as ABB (VPS). The Machine Operator, Coating Robot, TPS reports to the Production Supervisor.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • The Machinist, CNC reports directly to the area Supervisor.
  • Performs basic machining functions to produce parts.
  • Operates multiple machines simultaneously.
  • Monitors the machine to ensure proper program performance.
  • Completes shop work orders, inspection documentation, and daily maintenance sheets.
  • Makes off sets and adjustments to machines with moderate supervision.
  • Advocates for the health and safety of self, co-workers, customers, and the community.
  • Support quality and compliance by adhering to all procedures, work instructions, and forms per the Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Completes all required training.
  • Reads and understands customer specifications based on customer blueprints, Customer Requirement Sheets (CRS), and/or other written documentation; seeks clarification when needed.
  • Preps and fixtures orthopedic implants, placing fixtures in machine, programming and operating machine.
  • Performs general maintenance on equipment including filling hoppers with mesh, changing powder lots, and repairing fixtures.
  • Confirms customer specifications are met by reviewing and signing off on CRS ("Customer Requirement Sheet").
  • Ensures measurement equipment and other hand tools, such as calipers and micrometers, are maintained in good working order, replacing or requesting repair as needed.
  • Records data on specified forms, both manual and computerized, when needed.
  • Ensures defects or errors are immediately highlighted for supervisor review.
  • Updates and improves job knowledge by participating in educational and training opportunities, Kaizen events, and other team-based opportunities.
  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complies with legal regulations.
  • Responsible for following 5S practices in work area, performing general cleaning including sweeping, mopping and trash removal.
  • Responsible for accurately clocking in/out for the day and on/off jobs throughout the day using internal computer software system.
  • Performs other related duties and tasks as required.
  • Lead quality and compliance by utilizing One Orchid global processes and complying with all Quality Management Systems (QMS) documentation requirements and establishing/supporting plan(s) to meet/exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Quality that support Safety, Compliance, Six Sigma Quality, On-Time Delivery (OTD) and financial objectives.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Or Equivalent (Preferred)

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Lean Manufacturing Experience (Preferred)
  • Experience in Medical Device Manufacturing (Preferred)
  • 1+ Years of Experience Operating Machining Equipment in a Manufacturing Environment (Preferred)

  • - Close visual inspection is required. Must have excellent color vision, corrected or un-corrected to 20/40.

  • - Ability to apply logic and reasoning to solve problems, including identifying strengths/weaknesses, locating alternative solutions and conclusions, and approaches to problems; and making high-quality, timely decisions.
