Kamatics, a division of Kaman, specializes in self-lubricating bearings and engineered products. We have a great opportunity for a dynamic and motivated Production Tool Op. I to join our team in Bloomfield, CT on first shift. The core hours for the position are 7:00am to 3:30pm and we are currently running one hour of mandatory overtime, offered at the front end of the shift for a required 45 hours a week. Overtime pay is 1.5x the hourly rate for all hours in excess of 40 in a week.

Our products are used in space, aviation, marine, hydropower and other industrial applications. As an industry leader we design, test and manufacture the highest performing, self-lubricating, roller element, metal to metal and miniature bearings in the industry.

Responsibilities:



  • Under close supervision, begins introductory training and operation of alternately more than one type of production machine tool such as grinders, honers, milling machines, drill presses, lathes, etc. on routine and repetitive operations
  • Checks parts for conformance to specifications
  • Perform all responsibilities within productivity and quality expectations. Follow work procedures.
  • Maintain clean and safe work environment. Follow safety and environmental procedures and regulations. Report safety incidents to supervisor.
  • Make recommendations for improvements to work processes. Contribute to 5S program in work area.
  • Provide a high level of service to all internal and external customers. Contribute to positive teamwork environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Participate in learning other positions. Accomplish related results as needed.



Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.


Experience:



  • 0 - 1 year manufacturing experience.
  • Able to read and follow visual instructions.
