Clariant is currently looking for an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to support the Catalyst business unit at the West Plant facility in Louisville, KY. This role is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting process instrumentation and control systems in a manufacturing environment. This includes level and pressure instruments, PLCs, and related electrical components. The role requires a strong electrical background, preferably a licensed electrician-with advanced skills in control logic, wiring, and system modifications to support safe, efficient plant operations. Responsibilities

* Ensure compliance with all local regulations, permits, and company safety/environmental policies
* Participate in risk assessments, behavior-based safety observations, and address near-miss incidents
* Promote and model safe behavior within the team and across departments
* Troubleshoot, maintain, and calibrate level and pressure instrumentation and PLC-based control systems
* Understand and modify PLC logic for control system functionality (e.g., adding high/low-level sensor inputs)
* Perform conduit installation, wiring, and panel work for new and existing systems
* Use tubing benders and other specialized tools to support instrumentation installations
* Support and guide maintenance team members by sharing advanced technical knowledge
* Write and maintain standardized maintenance and troubleshooting procedures
* Create and maintain up-to-date technical plant documentation
* Participate in and serve as a backup lead for daily performance dialogue meetings
* Provide feedback on maintenance planning and reliability issues to improve future execution
* Collaborate across departments to support cross-functional projects and initiatives



Requirements

* High school diploma or GED
* Six or more years of industrial maintenance experience
* Licensed electrician or equivalent experience strongly preferred
* Skilled in troubleshooting complex electrical and instrumentation systems
* Familiar with PLC logic and making functional modifications
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and SAP
* Demonstrated experience in technical writing and procedure development
* Strong leadership and team guidance skills
* Able to bend tubing, run conduit, and perform precision instrumentation work
