Job Description Summary
The Interim Stage Technician will be responsible for the setup, operation and maintenance of all stage equipment and technical systems for concerts and events in Beston Hall. Including, but not limited to: coordination of performers, stage setup, set changes, motorize linseed operation, motorized curtain operation, and supporting the Technical Manager/Audio Engineer as needed. Operate technical systems, including lights, sound, and projection during pre-production, rehearsals, performances and other events. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and the ability/flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment. This positions helps maintain all CVPAD/Arts Center spaces.
Essential Functions

  • Coordinate with the Technical Manager/Audio Engineer to assist in the successful operation of events in Beston Hall.
  • Set up, operate, and dismantle audio, lighting, and stage equipment for concerts and events.
  • Collaborate with performers, directors, and production staff to ensure technical requirements are met.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of the venues' equipment and systems.
  • Assist in the coordination of load-ins and load-outs of equipment and sets.
  • Ensure all technical aspects of the performance run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Provide technical support during rehearsals and live performances.


Required Education, Experience, Technology Applications and Skills

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and accurately to team members and performers.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and execute instructions efficiently, ensuring adherence to project timelines and standards.
  • Proficiency in identifying, articulating, and resolving technical issues, with the capability to document and communicate troubleshooting procedures effectively.
  • Previous experience as a Stage Technician or in a similar role, preferably in a concert hall or live event setting.
  • Proficient with audio, lighting, and stage equipment.
  • Strong understanding of audio-video signal flow concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues under pressure. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work at heights.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Education, Experience, Technology Applications and Skills

  • Associates degree or higher in technical theatre, audio engineering, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with digital audio workstations (DAWs) and lighting control software.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, lift, carry, push and pull objects weighing 25-75 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and handle equipment as necessary for the role, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must have the ability to speak, hear, see, and engage in repetitive motion tasks.
  • Depth perception and color vision are necessary for the operation of specific equipment.
  • The ability to work at heights using ladders or lifts, following all safety protocols.
